We better look at an alternate 4th/1ft play

For whatever reason it seemed like when Parcells was coach they scored every goal line w/ Barber. May need to review that process.

As others have noted, at one point they showed a stat either in Parcells's last yr or Wade's first yr that Barber had the worst conversion rate on 3rd or 4th and 1 runs of any RB in the league.

Calvin Hill .... I remember one play in which he was in the process of being caught for a loss, and so he intentionally threw an incomplete pass to avoid the loss. It was a bright play on his part.

Hill threw the "halfback option" from time to time.

The main dissapointment from last night were those 4th down failures.

The Oline needs to do better but on the first one MBIII just flat out missed the hole. I was sitting directly behind that play and he inexplicably ran to the left when the hole was straight in front of him.

I think we intentionally went vanilla on those. i expect we've got some plays waiting to be broken out there ... but no point using it if you don't need it

I want to see Choice back there instead of Barber in that situation. Barber is dancing around to much get the ball and go!! Not great play calls but on two of those the first down was there to be had.

did anyone else want to punch your TV after all those failed attempts with THE SAME DAMN PLAY OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!

UGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH If jason garrett was in front of me during that game he'd have a fat lip!

Choice is the quickest to the hole of the 3 RBs and runs with determination so I think he is our best bet. I wouldn't mind Felix being in there as a distraction - maybe even fake the ptich to Felix and then fake the dive and then throw it.

Last time for you people that apparently cant tell the difference, that wasnt the same play called over and over.

Same guy carrying the ball does not = same play

He was dancing around too much, but man the Skins D line were getting some penentration on those two 4th downs. They were in the back field before he even got the ball, so he had to avoid them somehow.

I just dont understand the reluctance to call a qb sneak. Its not like he's gonna have a big hit put on him.

I really wanted to see a play action and throw it downfield to Austin. We were winning the game, it probably would have been single coverage, take a shot.

No matter the play had it failed some will question why did you not try this instead? I think it is the easiest thing in the world to second guess after the fact. Dallas handed off to Barber in a short yardage situation, we failed to get the push up front and it cost us. Had we thrown and failed or taken a sack many of Garrett critics would accuse him of trying to be cute instead of handing off to Barber.

Maybe we could throw more slants to wide open Sam Hurds or Roy Williamsessss

Yep, and it goes on and on here. I doubt any teams offensive coach is scrutinized more than ours by its fans. He calls a pass, should have been a run. Call a run, should have passed. Doesnt call trick plays, people say its stupid. Calls one in what is really an ideal trick play situation, and because it didnt work those same people are mad about it and say he shouldnt have called it.

He gets far too much blame for some things that he really has no control over once the play is called. If guys dont block well it doesnt mean it was a poor call. If a guy drops a pass it wasnt a poor call. But thats the way our "experts" see it in here.

Its really ridiculous IMO.

I agree. In my view plain and simple the reason we failed is the skins got a great push up front with their lineman vs ours. The whole battle in short yardage comes down to my big men vs your big men. Could we have passed? yes and it may have worked then again we could have taken a sack or had a drop and the question from the those who love to 2nd guess would be why did you do that when this play would have worked? It really is laughable

Put Spears at FB and have Choice run behind him. The defenders can't see Choice so it will slow them down a split second while they are trying to locate him. Put in Barber as a decoy too if you want. This should give us enough advantage to get a freaking 1 yard.

Why? Because I think that Garret is an idiot. Just QB sneak it. He is playcalling as if our QB is Aikman and our RB is Emmitt behind a massive Oline. This is the major reason why we have sputtered this season. Not because of Wade but because of Garrett's atrocious playcalling during critical situations.

Rat is quicker, probably stronger, and definitely meaner. :D

We have a relatively small QB in Romo. He is not a guy who can take tons of hits and not be affected. The last thing you want is to use him on a sneak in a game that we pretty much have in hand.

why not just have Choice or even some big dude like Ratliff take the snap from under center and do the sneak

I just can't believe that with all 11 guys from the other team heading straight for Barber we can't come up with a play to take advantage of that. Please, Boys, do something else. At least get them thinking you might do something else before doing this again.
