We gonna ignore Jaylon Smith today?

Played ok today, I think he's still finding his way in the league, and recovering from his injury. Keep his situation in mind when judging his performance. But I think he'll come along in the rest of the season. Dropped the INT but was impressed with the play on the ball.

He's been getting better every game. Today he took on blockers better except for one or two. He had a few good second effort plays and some highlight plays as well. How can anyone say he's not improving?

Damn man.....put DOWN the booze, game is over. Or as some others would say: "Lighten up Francis"
sorry you don't want to think about something like that. It was the same with Romo. Fine man who put it all on the field and look at how some here hated his guts. So frankly if you can't stand it too bad

It's his 'rookie' year.

If we'd listened to all the expert GM's on the board, after 3 seasons of 'nothing' we should have cut DLaw in camp this year.

I love watching people rag on Taco and Jaylon or any other rookie after a few games & going "Nah he ain't ever getting any better. Cut this scrub now."

We knew coming in this season playing 'redshirts' like Jaylon & rookies like Woods & Lewis was gonna cause some pain. They'll get better.

It is what it is.

Im ok with that but right now he hurts the defense.

Luke Kuechly was pretty awesome right a way. Many others.
well then give us a list of this MANY others that played at a Pro Bowl level right away
oh and spent a year away from the game rehabing before their first pro start
I think you will find your list a lot shorter than you want to believe

Nah, he was average and missed his INT chance. It was surprising to see one of our LBers jump a route and almost make a play though... very Kuechly-esque.
That might've been a big completion if he hadn't knocked it down. So I give him credit for that.

Stop making excuses for a guy that sucks right now. I'm not saying he will suck forever but he does at this time. Get over it. We will see how he looks next year but for now he is NOT the best option. Stop "excusing" the facts away...

That was a pretty tough interception to make with a wet ball.

He had some good and some bad this game.

He is better when he doesn't have to play a ton of snaps. I'm excited to see if our defense really comes on the last four or five games of the season.

If they aren't going to bench Heath they aren't going to bench Smith totally either.

I am not sure why people are surprised by this.

Jaylon Smith had a pretty good game today. I think some people are gonna have to come down from the ledge. Including myself.
If you consider all plays, not just the few you noticed, he was not that good.

I still hold out hope, but he is not there yet.

I kept thinking he looks like he is wearing about 20 pound ankle weights. His feet just look "heavy".
