i think carp is good at his natural position and if he gets traded and they play him there he will excel.

Spears is Greg Ellis Ver 2.0, not great at anything thru the early part of his career but steady.

Someone posts an opinion that others don't agree with and we get the "Stu" crew that want to post crap telling the original poster his/her post is crap or the "pid" crew who want to piss and moan about what will happen to the board when we lose...the board's original intent was to be a place where Cowboy fans can exchange ideas and talk about the Cowboys...instead the Stu pid crew prefers to spam up their own board...

...this post has been a fish slap upside your head...

There are no such thing as stupid posts. Except this one.

You do realize how contradictory your post is, right? Maybe we can burn the posts you don't agree with?

Although Spears and Carp may improve over the years. But they will never play to the potential of the position they were drafted.

These 2 guys at best are 5th round draft picks.
We should have drafted Thomas Howard (Oakland)

Carpenter was a pretty bad pick. i hope he turns it around. But he seems like a lazy no talent jerk at this point. He can’t even play special teams.

That Carp pick was out to lunch. I was shocked with the Fasono pick but at least he has skills. Carp looks slow and dumb did I say slow. Well New Engand does draft better then most teams and now they get a top 5 pick, while the freakin browns might win their division, being lucky is good or maybe Kraft signed his sole to the devil. To bad about JuJo he looked so good and he was Irish.

I don't understand crap like this...

Lazy?

No Talent?

Jerk?

Where in the hell did you get that idea?

I can't remember anyone saying anything negative about Carp's work ethic, personality or talent when he was drafted.

But since he doesn't meet your expectations he's a lazy, no talent, jerk... ***?

What I do remember is Carpenter playing well in the win over Atlanta... and the playoff loss to the Seahawks.

Carpenter was simply drafted to a team where he doesn't fit. He isn't going to beat out any of the starters.

That doesn't make him lazy... doesn't mean he's some hack off the street... and most certainly doesn't make him a jerk.

He'll probably leave here and be a good player for a team like the Giants or something.

I wonder if you would have the nerve to walk up to the 6'2 257lb Bobby Carpenter on the street and call him a lazy, no talent, jerk to his face. I would pay to see that.

Tom Landry said you had to give draft picks 3 years before you gave up on them. Carp still has one to go. Spears is a solid 3-4 DE. Is he giving us what a #20 first rd pick should- No. But neither did Ellis. I think it can be argued that Ellis and Spears Are pretty much equal. Both solid starters and occasionally better but not Pro Bowl ability. Ellis has the edge because he has produced better but then he was quite a bit the higher pick. So if you look at where they were picked and what they have produced from that point of view they are equal. Remember when we picked Ellis we were still living down the bad times and could not afford to pick ANOTHER loud mouthed trouble making WR. When we picked Spears we were about to go to the 3-4 and we had NOT A SINGLE 3-4 DE on the roster. So we had to go after the best one available in the draft. In reality there was nothing else we could do. Actually, when you look at the past when we fixated on DE we actually have done better with Spears then with Carver, Pitman, Ekuban.

No one expected Spears to be a pass rushing monster. Coming out of college, he was drafted for his run stopping abilities, which he has been very good at.

They predicted he would be a 3 sack a year player. He's slightly under that yearly total. But it's not like he's been a disappointment. We got what we expected ... a solid run stopper.

That's what he is.

The Carp pick still baffles me.
