All we heard from Garrett apologists was that he always had the #1 offense, or at least top 10.
It didn't matter that we were 8-8.
Now it's the same argument - big stats, but not winning. Dak Prescott is Jason Garrett 2.0.
Cooper Rush doesn't rack up huge stats, but we're winning.
I'll take winning.
You'll take winning. Up until you pop the hood and realize the offense is trimmed down to limit the mistakes a player of Rush's ability tends to make. If for no other reason, this last four weeks should indicate what a truly unique defense Dallas has fielded. The front four, along with some nice tricks called by Quinn, put pressure on the QB and move him off his spot. There is a more than likely chance the offenses this defense has faced were not that stellar to begin with. The Eagles game will show us where they truly stand.
But Rush is not asked to carry the team. His late game drives have come for less than top ten offenses, for this season. As Parcells said, you forget what a player, squad, or team did last year when you access where they are this season. Meaning your record indicates who you truly are.
Both the Rams and Bengals are not what they were last year. That factors in.
But......having said that, and understanding Dak is a much better QB than Rush. The idea of Dak playing within his capabilities, and not being pressured to win the games all by himself, but now has a real defense, the future this season looks pretty bright when he returns. Especially since Dallas has an easy schedule.
