I can’t disagree with you. They combined for 100 yards. You and I remember the the days of Elliot getting 100 by himself. Pollard almost getting 100 himself. A good run game should be closer to the 200 yard mark combined. Rotating fresh legs should have in theory let us run out the clock in the second half. The reason for a bell cow back is to have someone like Elliot to get those first 10-12 carry’s to get in the groove and know when the holes were opening up and when to make his break to get past or through the second level. I don’t think Elliot can handle 20-25 carry’s a game anymore. And I am not sure we have a RB with enough talent to do that. If we can get our group to consistently get 175+ total a game we will be where we need to be.You may be right and I hope you are.
But what I’m saying is. The running game isn’t just fixed now. The improvement still needs to happen. So I’m not sure why the comment about Cook was made. If anybody thinks the running backs yesterday were impressive in any way shape or form. I would highly disagree with that.
