Absolutely false. Dallas Cowboys brand was built from their inception, especially the 70s. He simply piggybacked on it. The NFL as a whole exploded. Dallas was branded "America's Team" before he arrived. They had a huge fanbase well established before he took over. You make it sound like he took over a franchise like the Lions and brought them to new heights. The NFL as a whole was built well before Jerry arrived.

He made one good move his whole career. He hired Jimmy. And Jimmy took it from there to build the 90s dynasty. Jerry then un-did that and got rid of him because of his ego. And ever since then, because he got no credit, he made himself GM and ran the team like his own local grocery store, employing all his family.
