I agree but fact is Dallas is not leaning on Dez, meaning dependent on him. Cowboys are showing great balance in their attack
I guess we see it differently...Dez is why other guys are making plays. The attention Dez demands opens it up for other guys. Not sure these guys would be as productive without the presence of Dez. It is a big reason why we do not move Dez around. It allows the QB to predict the Safety's responsibility on passing plays.

I'm not wasting money on another #1. If Dez is hurt than they need to figure something out with what they already have. When you r #1 receiver gets hurt you don't just go and run to trade for one.

agreed. Behind pass rush and abysmal linebackers, the lack of a true deep threat is a concern. 3 plays over 20+ yards last night, although an argument could be made - don't get too many explosive plays, or aforementioned pathetic front 7 will take the field too soon.

Dez is not doubled all the time though.

And how long do you think Dez is going to be ok with not getting the ball all the time?

Not that I'm advocating a trade for Gordon, but it will be interesting to see if the baseball mindset in Cleveland has a trade deadline fire sale when they are 0 and whatever, knowing that the season is over (likely starting Kevin Hogan or Clipboard Jesus by then).

I'd love to see Dallas spend some mid round picks (in the upcoming draft, not in foolish drunk Jerry trades) on speed WRs that can scare defenses. A scrap heap guy like Ted Ginn really did wonders for Carolina last year.

We could also draft 3 or 4 more FBs. Just so we have them since we need the depth.

we just need to find a cheap reliable one like the GIants do, a year here or there, than move on. the problem is we cozy with some guys that need to go.

of course teams mix it up

That's true. I just don't see this team as dependent on Dez as you guys do. We need him. We need him to be dominate if we plan on getting the most out of this team. I just think as of right now facing some of the teams we are I think we are good at receiver. Makes us harder to defend getting everyone involved.

Just like being Romo dependent... We are also Dez dependent.

I'm not asking for us to go make a Roy Williams type of splash but we need someone who is a better than average WR in case Dez goes down. A low end #1 WR.

Do you guys know of any options out there that someone might be willing to trade? Josh Gordon maybe :)

It's a little late for that Catch. Just like the pass rush. We made our bed and now we have to lay in it. I was clamoring for a WR all off season, but nope. Doesn't matter anyway, your boy JG won't let anyone get on the field anyway ahead of Twill! Will be fun to see what Butler can do when Romo returns, considering he has never even played with him.

I don't think Dallas is going to agree with you on this. Dez is the primary threat while Beasley is getting consistently open and making catches. Based on that, I don't believe Dallas is going to see the need to get a low-end No. 1 receiver.

Now, I'd love to have another real threat at the No. 2 receiver spot, but I just can't see Dallas investing much into it.

exactly, find a cheap WR that Dak is comfortable with. I was hoping it was Butler, but it not so be it.

Philip Dorset's been underperforming and the colts other receivers are pretty much clones of one another. Maybe we can send them a 4th their way and hope a change of scenery does him some good.

with the cap I would rather spend any money on the D.
the wr's are serviceable and Williams as #2 is fine. It may not be like Cruz/ODB but NY is weaker at rb.
again without the cap u may have a point but with the cap we should address the other side

Agreed. What would be really nice is to have a better No. 2 who is semi-capable of filling in as the No. 1 should Dez go down. But as you said, resources are limited.

Hmmm... Alshon is on a 1 year deal.. The problem is that it's for 15 million haha..

I can't imagine the amount of money Alshon got for his performance last night.. Mind boggling.

He was hurt. He's a stud.

I think the goal is to win ball games and if we are doing that then I would expect him to be good with it. This is a team sport the production of the team the winning of the team should mean more.
