I'm down. For the right price. I don't think Henry is an every down back anymore. It would be a good fit for the right price. \

Pollard, Davis, Deuce and Luepke.

Cowboys will be fine with these 4 (1 being a FB).

If something happens (injury) or another veteran RB becomes available after preseason cuts, Cowboys can always pick up another veteran RB. Heck, don't be surprised if Zeke comes back (he would have to use another jersey #; maybe his college football #?) if he agrees to a veteran minimum deal of $4 mil/season or less as a part-time RB.

No need to panic. Cowboys will be fine at RB.

Figure out a way to get Derrick Henry on this squad. I do NOT trust a duo of Pollard-Jones at the end of the season where defenses will be priming for a playoff run. Henry-Pollard would be built for December football.
No happening .

Henry is in the final year of his contract with a 10.5m base salary. I don't think we should consider it right now but maybe an early-mid season trade if we are looking like a contender and need a superbowl push. In that scenario maybe a 2nd round pick is palatable (he'll likely garner a 4th round compo pick).

Now that Kellen "Every run early in games need to be right up the middle so it can be ineffective and I can declare it doesn't work" Moore is out of town this team might have a chance to properly utilize a back like Henry. I'd love to see a downhill runner in this offense without Moore's play calling and Philbin's insane at times blocking schemes.. But if you wanted a downhill power back.. might as well have kept Zeke. If you don't run him up the middle all the time there's pretty good chance he doesn't get hurt and he doesn't wear down near as bad after the halfway point of the season. But if Henry can be had without giving up too much.. count me in.. Let's do it!!!

A future 2nd round pick? Now you're working to the Titans favor. I wouldn't offer more than a 5th round pick considering Derrick Henry is scheduled to become a free agent after 2023, plus he's worn down and has lots of mileage on his treads.

I’m just hoping that if we go into the season with what we have at RB and we struggle to pick up a critical yard on third or fourth down or near the endzone that we don’t get desperate and have to make a trade for a Derrick Henry to try and salvage our season. The Cowboys have miscalculated at RB before and paid the price in 2015. Let’s say Tennessee sucks and the Cowboys are struggling to pick up those tough yards between the tackles and it’s costing them games. The Titans might dangle Henry out there and the Cowboys could bite if they’re desperate. I’m certainly not comfortable with what we have behind Pollard, and if he doesn’t return to form after the injury, we could end up in real trouble running the ball. The fans who aren’t worried because of the Smurf we drafted who some have convinced themselves will be the next Barry Sanders, clearly don’t understand the NFL game and are living in a fantasy world.

In 2023 Dallas ran the ball 282 times on first down.

Pollard...115 carries... 5.2 yards per attempt
Elliott...121 carries...3.5 yards per attempt

When Moore wasn't saddled with using the plodding Zeke (perhaps at Jerry's demand)...
First down run game was a juggernaut

That Smurf (Deuce) ran past top 5 conference big schools the past 2 seasons in college.

I believe you meant "2022", bro? Agree with your post though. Great info. Thanks.
