I made this point in draft thread but what the heck, I haven't seen this point made anywhere.
So, if the league goes to 18 games, (which it will, it's just a matter of when) think about what that does to the game. Lines become more important for the long haul. Someone like Manziel/RG3/Vick can't stay healthy for 16 games more or less 18. You need the big guys, and depth behind them when the schedule gets more brutal. Those extra 2 games aren't just 12% more, they are exponentially more in the sense of durability over a season. Lines are always important, but they will be more so in an extended season.
Maybe the Boys are getting ahead of this trend with 3 of last 4 1st rounders being OL. Whoever our next QB is, that kid will need a deep and great OL to protect him over an 18 game season.
