We picked Escobar at 47, Pitt grabbed Bell at 48

If we had drafted Bell he would be doing exactly what Randle,Dunbar, Escobar, Beasly been doing these last couple seasons...dont use them enough imo...

What if Witten went down this year?

The guy missed one game all his career and played with a rupture spleen. It's highly unlikely Witten will go down. If they are going to use a big resource on a player because they are worried about someone going down, they should have used it on a QB, RB or a MLB.

And somebody would be complaining that we could have had Escobar, who'd be tearing it up someplace with more opportunities in the passing game. :)

I liked Bell a lot coming out, too, and just shook my head at the Escobar pick because of the position he plays. Though I did think we might be taking a TE somewhere in those top four rounds. I like Escobar, though. I think he's got the ability to be a heck of a player with more opportunities in the passing game. He's a huge target and has those big, soft teddy-bear hands. It's fun to watch him pluck the ball out of the air like it's nothing.

It was confusing pick but I will say if Dallas didn't have Witten I think Escobar would actually be pretty good player.

Just like Fasano and Bennett........I guess the point is "but we do have Witten"

This guy Leveon Bell has been nothing short of incredible. Imagine if we'd picked him up.

Still on a rookie contract, we'd be able to pay Dez, let Murray walk and pay some of our other FAs.

Just sayin....

Do you have hypertension? I'm betting you do.

I still believe Peterson will be a Cowboy next season. Murray will take the highest bidder which isn't going to be the Cowboys.

even if the value isnt there

Eh, I'm more disappointed we didn't take Travis Kelce instead of Escobar if we were set on taking a TE. Kelce is a much better blocker and overall TE

That's a great point. And he went late.

Escobar much like Bennett is probably going to be a very good TE for someone down the road, doubt it will be here and that makes him a waste of a pick

Nothing against Escobar, but the issue raised by the OP is that you draft starters in the 1st-2nd rounds. You want those guys to be starting by their 2nd year. The problem with the Escobar pick is Witten doesn't even come off the field.

When can we realistically expect the staff to even lessen Witten's load? Hanna is clearly the best run-blocking TE on the roster so he'll always have a role. Cant fault Escobar for not being a great NFL blocker when he probably did very little of it in college.

We're probably going to be in the same boat 2 years from now. Witten still playing 90-95% of the snaps and Escobar barely getting on the field and fans questioning the pick. Escobar will probably go elsewhere and turn out to be a pretty good player, like Bennett.

And Guys like Randle and Dunbar get the ball 1 time a game and look like all Pro's.. We don't use the weapons we got now..

Why would we use a 2nd rd pick on a TE when we needed help on defense?

if we needed help on defense, why get all weepy eyed over bell? I don't think I've seen his defensive skills yet.
