I thought I would have had more opposition to this thread. Guess they're busy celebrating with the rest of us. :muttley::facepalm:

Tap the brakes on the D being anywhere near as good as the O. The D line is not going to be anywhere near the same quality as the O line. Now if Jaylon goes 100% with Lee we have two PBs there. BUT frankly I do not see any others.
Now the D could very well become top 10 unit soon; but that is still quite a ways behind the O

Top 10 makes them as good or better than last year's group of coasters (with a much higher ceiling)... So I'm not sure what your point was but ok.

You tap the brakes. I'll continue to toast to a great new group of defensive performers.

a rather accomplished HC liked to remind people its a little DUMB to use anointing oil before someone has ever played a down.

I love that well accomplished head coach. But what does that have to do with the clear and present evidence we have placed in front of us by our front office? Anointing comes "after" they start making a name for themselves. Right now, it's pure excitement & that excitement doesn't include brake tapping.

That anointing oil reference doesn't apply here. We just had our third helluva draft in as many consecutive years. We're building something & it doesn't take 20/20 vision to see it.

That's a fair point. Let's see some statistical production from these guys. Hopefully it will come this year! Go cowboys

i ll go on record and say "no way did i think Dallas had it in them to do this" no way. Than they did. I dont know whos idea it was, i dont know who put the path together to follow. To the T the Cowboys did the hard part. Now we ll have to see how long it takes after we roll the dice.

On a per drive basis, our defense (specifically pass defense) was about league average. Except passer rating allowed which was abysmal, one of the worst in the league. And that was playing with our offense which was really good, for the most part.

I have no doubt this defense will be better.

Any questions? Commentary? Rueing over Church, Claiborne, or Carr? (AKA MediocreSauce)

Our Dream team of Garrett, J Jones, S Jones, & McClay went to WORK in the War Room and they deserve some Pat's on the back. The reimagining is fully underway!

Sure, as with anything, only time will tell... But if you can't see the amount of work that was put into the past three days(& several weeks prior), I guess glasses won't help.

How bout Dem Cowboys??? :yourock::flagwave::starspin:

I feel good about it. At the very least I'm excited for something fresh on that side of the ball.

You add a healthy Jaylon Smith to what we drafted and it's a great start.

It's all part of the process. Since Jason Garret took over he has been slowly ridding the team of older aging vets with big contracts with youth and talent. He first started with the offensive line at the expense of Tony Romo. We are now focusing on the defense which in most cases only takes a couple of years to turn the defense around.

This has been aided by the fact that Jerry has relinquished most of the control to his son and Jason. Just realize that Garrett is going to be here for a lot longer than a lot of Garrett haters want. Garrett is the driving force behind this slow and methodical rebuild but he is fully supported by Jerry and most importantly by Stephen. Expect this relationship to continue well into the future.

Garrett has proven to be a motivator of men and he has rebuilt this team in the mold of the 90's team. We are now young, talented, and primed.

This post got my attention:

Pure genius.

For what reason? No FAs, Tapper and Jaylon have yet to play a down in the NFL and the rookies are what they are; rookies.

Love how the OP is patting himself on the back like it's a foregone conclusion we get production out of all these guys.

Are you a Cowboys fan or just someone who sees the glass completely empty? The draft is about the future. For Tapper and Jaylon, the future is now. It's an exciting time to be a fan of our beloved Cowboys, with both a great draft and great future ahead of them. Whats to complain about? GO COWBOYS!!!
