Weather where you are

Dr. Levi Cowan creates videos and blogs pertaining to tropical cyclones, primarily hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean. Posts occasionally concern other, non-tropical weather events around the world. Levi has a Ph.D. in meteorology from Florida State University.

Hanna is a Cat 1 and headed for the southern Texas coast, y'all stay safe.
Should get about 12 inches of rain for my pasture. I own several investment homes, crossing my fingers that we don't have any damages.

Something just came to mind when this question is asked. Reminds me of the scene in Good Morning Vietnam when Robin Willams is doing a skit on the radio and he goes what is the weather like and said in a another voice can’t talk right now. I am with a lady friend. You got a window? Than open it. It’s hot. D*** hot mother f*****. That is the picture I have in my mind.

100 degrees every day, max humidity, heat index sometimes 110. It'll be in the 90s until mid-late october

Beginning a 10 day triple digit run here with wind and burn ban in effect. Last summer, someone ignored that and set the hills on fire and they had crews in from every adjacent county and choppers out trying to stem it. They evacuated several neighborhoods, it looked like something you'd see with the CA fires.

We are beginning our 10-day run as well except the highs will be from 74 to 80. Brrr, might need a light jacket at night

I do not miss Texas in the Summertime

Not too bad in Dallas this week.
Dry, sunny, 70s in the mornings, low 90s in afternoon

will be warmer by late week though

Best electrical storm I've ever seen at home just now. Pushing 3 hours the sky's been lighting up every 10 seconds or so. Very little thunder and the rain is fluctuating between off and apocalyptic. Very bizarre, certainly for Scotland.
I had gone to bed but got up and enjoying the storm in the conservatory with a whisky

Sounds interesting, stay safe, post some pics if you get the chance.

Found this on Edinburgh news. Article is from today, not sure if the pic is old or not. Looks intense.

It started about 9pm just the lightning for a couple of hours then the rain started and thunder kicked in later, last time I got woke up with the thunder was just after 5am. Never experienced a storm like it and nowhere close to that length of time, usually about 20 minutes or so if we get a thunderstorm.
My folks drove up from about an hour away to watch my son while we're at work and were saying they never got any rain but quite a bit of flooding on the drive up. Lot's of flooding in the 2 cities I'm halfway between, a house burned out after a lightning strike in a town about half an hour away and a train derailment this morning up north that I assume will be linked but we just got a free light show.
I did contemplate going down to the loch and trying to get some photos but I couldn't be bothered getting dressed and was enjoying the whisky so didn't end up moving.
