I actually thought the running game looked really good. I think the run-run-run people are really all about balance. In previous games, Garrett would give up on the run too early or would run once and if it got stuffed, he'd never go back to it.

I kept waiting for a good play action today, but it never really materialized. Either way, we need to get a good balance and rhythm going. Right now, it's one or the other.

what do you have to say for yourselves today?

We won so that is all that matters to me but damn we will win by the pass. Running 2/3 of the time will not get it done. On the last drive we threw every down and won the game.

Need to run to keep them honest but we will win or lose in the air.

Best part of this team though is that this year we are winning games when we play badly unlike the last couple of years when we would have lost today.

hardly, we won because Romo finally started connecting on passes, not because we ran so much early in the game

Anyway, the run run run group yapped we didn't run enough when we won games this year so what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander

I think the run, run, run group was more concerned with the losses where Dallas didn't run.

What you don't understand is running the ball won't assure a victory, but it is necessary to have a win. Not sufficient but necessary.

I don't know about that, I remember them complaining after the win against the Eagles.

I knew id read this. If we could have completed passes then it would have accomadated the run. But no the pass wouldnt compliement it. There for this post is stupid. We should run, we run well. But when we need to pass we should be able to complete one.

the Run was working very well today!! The RBs avg'd 4.8yds/carry.

Barber had 99yds on 20 carries. Felix Jones had 49yds on 10 carries.

That's pretty darn good IMO.

Romo's the one that went 15/27 158yds 1TD 1INT. That's a QB Rating of 69.67.

If not for Commanders' butterfingers, they'd have picked him off 2 more times.

The defense bailed out Romo. He threw some awful awful passes today.

More bad things happen when you throw the ball. It's science.

We could have easily had 3 turnovers today if London Fletcher and McIntosh didn't have Roy Williams syndrome.

Running the ball is safer, and like someone mentioned on the first page... We should have had more points but a missed FG and Barber's fumble ruined that.

Bingo. The running game was good today and it was doing a great job of setting up the pass. Problem is, whenever it came time to pass the passing game couldn't get it going. This thread has FAIL written all over it.

You should not be commenting on posts being stupid with such atrocious spelling.

I am all in favour of running the ball but in the NFL you win by the pass. We only won because the Cowboys passing game woke up on the last drive.

I agree that you have to pass to win, but the running game mitigated a lot of risk today. Romo was clearly off after and maybe even before getting injured. In the past, Garrett would have kept flinging the ball, resulting in many 3 and outs and probably more interceptions. I don't really have a problem with the 4th down interception that Romo threw. It was a desperate measure on a 4th down.

At least running the ball kept our defense fresh and their defense on the field. You might even argue that their defense was tired at the end of the game when our passing finally started to click a bit.

Maybe we should instigate a change of pace offense (no-huddle). Romo and the receivers actually seem to do better when they're making things up. Improv has always been Romo's strength.

Your running game can be the ebst in the league, but if you cant pass (Like we couldnt for 95% of the game today) it doesnt matter, because eventually the defense is going to put 8-9 in the box and you simply cannot pick up 10 yards on 3 runs against 9 man fronts in the NFL comsistently

But is that their only complaint? No.

I've been a part of that group because Dallas should be running more.

You can't be one-dimensional because you have nothing when that dimension isn't getting it done.

Guaranteed with the way Romo played for 3 quarters that Dallas loses if Garrett goes pass heavy like last week. Guaranteed. It takes both aspects.

Who said to just run run run run run run?????I want to see where someone just wanted RED to run the ball. Balance is key to winning. And by that I dont mean just 50/50 I mean keep them guessing. Dont just go into RED fantasy world and pass everydown and obviously dont just run it for the hell of it either.

Yeah, its wierd how people calling for more balance by Jason Garrett all of a sudden means that we want to to nothing but run the ball on every play.

Don't worry you know it still a few people out there want to act dumb like all the fans wanted the Cowboys to do is run 100% of the time.
He should be a professional offensive cordinator that has a game-winning game plan with the weapons he has.

The run sets up everything. It opens Jason Garrett world of "I JUST WANT TO CALL PASSING PLAYS" up and make Jason Garrett look like a genius. I also believe Garrett and Wade Wilson needs to work on Tony Romo mechanics and see what he's comfortable with doing in the offense and what he's not. For example, Romo isn't too much of a pocket quarterback which Wade Wilson and Jason Garrett was and Tony Romo is 6-2 which is kinda short, he ain't 6-4, so he needs to simply find a lane by scrambling.

Also, Garrett needs to get Tashard Choice more carries than Felix Jones, because the Cowboys need Felix Jones to heal. He's explosive when 100%. He's not 100%. Everytime he's trying to get to 100% Cowboys try to give him even more carries. I believe Tashard Choice is the example of consistency and productivity. He only got the ball once from what I seen and he got stopped, but really what do you expect when you don't get the proper carries which falls back on the offensive cordinator.

I can go on all day about what Garrett needs to work on this offense. If someone said their wasn't a such thing as consistent offense, I have to debate the fact that is a lie, why?, New Orleans and Colts. UNDERFEATED.

ALSO, Hudson Houck needs to work on his unit and get Doug Free more prepared and concentrate on cutting down on penelties which also hurts the teams.
