What many of the 'cry by nighters' aren't seeing is that McCarthy might well be leading Dak Prescott to his next level.

Many quarterbacks at this point in their careers, do take another step as to productions for their teams.

Don’t forget…

Aaron Rodgers hated Big Mike.

One of the many reasons he was fired at Green Bay.

The Cowboys have 6 Prime Time games scheduled this year. That will be helping Dak Prescott.

There is a fine line between leadership and discipline. The intensity has to be retained. Aaron Rodgers had incredable completion abilities that he could always count upon. Teams ebb and flow, and that is when a head coach goes.

During the 90's, San Francisco had 8 straight 10+ seasons, then a real period of struggling as well. They had to come back from a down period like most championship teams frequently experience.

Look at New England right now...

Rodgers seemed really butthurt about big Mike. I think the hate was real.

Maybe Dak keeps a lot of it to himself.

KMoore seemed to want out. he was out of work for 1 day.

That was at the start of the covind epidemic and even learning his team was very tough.
ADD IN,

Could it have more to do with losing like 17 players, having eleven different offensive line combinations ,and losing Prescott for most of the year??

that would be a reason to have a off year but still the way they finished what four and one down the stretch and ever since then 2 -12-5 seasons ,I say they're on a nice roll right now.

Anyone judging Mike McCarthy for that first season must be really forgetful onthe actual fact of what went down that year.

When any O-Line gets hit with the injury bug its harder to win but couple that with losing a starting QB and its even harder. We have a descent to good backup that can drive the bus.

Driving a bus seriously you mean a bus with two flat tires sure I'm sure it can make it to the service garage but it ain't winning any races I mean I don't get the point you're trying to make assumptions that Mike McCarthy should have had a better record are you kidding me I mean who's making those assumptions I don't get it he had no shot at having a successful season in 2020.

I was trying to make a valid point but apparently people like to get off topic...

You wanna know how bad 2020 was the terrible Washington team the bottom feeders won the division because between the Cowboys and Eagles injury bug they were able to squeak out enough wins to win the division versus where they should have been at the bottom where they've been for a very long time...

Playoff success, or McCarthy is unemployed.

Jason Garrett is the only coach to stay longer than four years, since Jerry Jones bought the team in 1989.

I'm not sure how you mean this, but the whole article is an indictment on Rodgers. He's a little boy. Right from the article you linked

Nobody holds a grudge in any sport like Rodgers. When it comes to Rodgers, grudges do not merrily float away. They stick. They grow. They refuel.

No, Rodgers would not forget that McCarthy had helped perpetuate his four-and-a-half-hour wait in the NFL draft green room the year prior. His nationally televised embarrassment. McCarthy, then the 49ers offensive coordinator, chose Alex Smith No. 1 overall. Not Rodgers.
No, Rodgers would not take it as a funny accident.
"Aaron's always had a chip on his shoulder with Mike," says Ryan Grant, the Packers' starting running back from 2007 to 2012. "The guy who ended up becoming your coach passed on you when he had a chance. Aaron was upset that Mike passed on him—that Mike actually verbally said that Alex Smith was a better quarterback."

It's also referencing things that happened more than a decade ago. McCarthy isn't likely hte same person or coach.

The pairings of authority and producers requires a common bond that revolves around commitment. Jimmy Johnson ignored the same need when he abandoned his team and blaming Jerry. Arrogant or not...it should have been team.

Building a team and developing a team already is the cause. It was very difficult to even get together in a room, much less onto the field to get any real sense of working together.

McCarthy had to learn players, their tendencies, and bring them together over the internet and cameras...c'mon. Almost all other teams were much farther into the process of preparing for even a game, than was Dallas.

Time together over conference calls...?

I was pretty much agreeing with your earlier post. What would our record been if JG was still coach in 2020 with an injured O-Line. JG would not even get chaz green help in the falcon game. Almost got Dak killed. But to mention the 6 more sacks he took in the next game against egirls. I think MM has more control or is a better HC than JG. And has brought a better staff with him. At least as far as ST and DC. He should have brought a better O-Line coach but I think we got a better one now that’s more of aggressive coach.

Biggest knock I have vs JG is that he wasted the best years of Romo’s career.

Wasted them
