As I mentioned, there are teams, such as the Commanders, where the probability of losing their QB, or having a drop in effectiveness as the season progresses, is much higher.

The drop in effectiveness would be no higher for the Skins as would be for anybody else. Lets look at the best teams in the NFL.

Steelers
Seahawks
Colts
Broncos
Panthers
Patriots

Which one of those teams would be good if they lost their starting QB?

All I know is we still have a draft to look forward to.

Can you honestly say the same?

So you are hoping that the draft will make next year's team appreciably better? We draft 18th right?

We've lost Glover, Fujita and possibly Allen.

We've added Ayodele, Kosier.

Do the math and we still have 27 mill in cap space and Suisham as our kicker? Not good.

You still don't get it. We trade our draft picks for young, proven NFL players. we did it Coles, Moss and Portis in the past. This year we did it with Lloyd. Because, lets face it, it takes about 3 years for a player to hit his stride anyways.

Ok, I'm sure I'll get bashed with the "Free Agency isn't over yet" crap, but I must say it looks like Jerry is letting us down this year boys. It makes me sick to see the foreskins making deals, and what'd we get so far? A backup lineman and as far as I'm concerned a second rate linebacker.

The money is there Jerry...........SPEND IT.

Looks like you are drinking the Washington Kool-Aid too.

How many of those team's QBs have a recent history of leg problems, and a significant drop in effectiveness late in the season. That's what I was asking you. The Commanders have a legitimate reason to be concerned about Brunell's ability to make it through an entire season at 100%. None of those other teams have that concern.

Explain to me how this is so devastating.Glover rarely played, Fujita played because of injuries, and was only with the team half the season, and Allen is a shell of himself, but not gone yet. So how does this dramatically hurt our team?

Good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But be advised...The Skins QB is 50years older than any you mentioned plus he has over 100,00 miles on those tires. Now you figure the odds.;)

What exactly has Lloyd proven?

He was in S.F. I always thought Lloyd would be a real good reciever on a better team. Ask me the same question after the season.

If you're going to take THAT stance, then you can't qualify Lloyd as a young, proven player. All he's proven so far is that he will drop more balls than "50-50" Gardner, and make the occasional highlight catch. Randle El is in a similar boat.

You keep believing that. All I know is that they're both upgrades from what we had a few days ago.

(a) Still no answer on the QB situation?

(b) You can't say the above, if you're going to take a "Ask me after next season" stance. So far he's proven nothing except that he has sub-par hands and he's a possession receiver without any size. I fail to see the amazing upgrade.

While I agree with your assesment that there aren't many teams that would continue on without a drop off in production should their starting QB go down, there's one factor that you conveniently ignore. Of all the teams you have listed above, not one of them are hinging their season hopes on an oft injured 36 year old QB.

What do you want me to say about the QB situation? I'm not expecting him to get hurt, if that's what you want to hear. And didn't a lot of you say the samething about Moss a year ago? Like I said before, we're better on offense than we were a few days ago.

Spot on. They may be breaking the bank, but they are improving the areas they are spending on. Isn't that the bottom line? At this point, only Ayodele is an improvement because I've yet to see how we are using Kosier. If he is the top swimg man, improvement. If he is the starting LG, I don't think so.
