LOL...Jerry shopping for Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator. Keep that in mind with all the interviews. Notice the last couple of names are offensive guys. My guess is filling out all three jobs will be shared responsibility between him and the next coach. If he chooses an offensive coach, he will likely allow him to choose his own OC and HE will choose the DC and vice versa. This is similar to how he has operated with new coaches since Jimmy Johnson. It's his way of keeping a direct set of eyes and hears at the coaching/players level.
Head coach .....Moore
OC....................Shoddy
DC....................Frazier or Saleh
Special Team coor......Jason Witten

wouldn't hate it.
he hits my "landry hallmarks":
☆born in texas
☆played college ball
☆played pro ball
☆served as a coord.

i'd rather lynn than kmoore or schottenheimer, personally.

I will say this much, the guy comes with very high regard throughout the league . His success would be dependent on the staff, and how much influence he has on team building. I already know the players love the guy universally. Problem with the hire would be nothing changed as far as culture. It would be a comfort hire. We need bold. We need to rattle a few cages for the greater good of this team long-term.

I still find that strange, they're all retreads, most of the people hired are retreads.

now here's a counterpoint to your theory,

what if they learn from their mistakes they grew as a coach and now their second time around they're going to be a lot better?

I mean there's a lot of first time head coaches, if you want to really break it down, that fail hard, they go from a coordinator who they were really good at their job and then took a first time head coaching gig they typically fail just as much... The ironic thing is they were those guys you're talking about the ones that failed the first time around they were the ones who were elevated from a coordinator position, and it didn't work out....

I'm betting it's very close and fail percentage you got to pick the one that's best suits your current roster the main guys on your roster like the quarterback the pass rusher the guys making the most money you need to find the staff that's going to best suit them I don't care if they're a retread how old they are if you're worried about them failing their first time around or worried about them failing.

That's all in play what I want is the best coaching staff they can put together for this team so when you're interviewing the head coach who is going to be his staff what is his plan for this current core of this roster that's important I don't care if it's one of these regurgitated guys that is mostly who people hire and then people worry about nepotism or hiring a guy that used to be a player you know what that also goes on all around the league why is it like when the Dallas Cowboys do something the rest of the league does as well it seems they get questioned harder on it as if it's the easy way out they don't know what they're doing,

no that happens everywhere all over the league....

I'm not interested in any of the names being mentioned. I would still interview some of the top college coaches. There are many great coaches available.

He’s quite respected around the league. Fans get upset that *Jerry* wants someone he’s familiar with, but the fans are the worst about that.

The only reason they wanted Ben Johnson is because everyone told them he was hot. Beyond that, the fans also just want “retreads”.

Vrabel, Belichik, Carroll, Kingsbury. Even Flores and McCarthy still tick some boxes for fans, largely because they’ve heard the name.

He was terrible with the Chargers. Lmao.
True. But that’s why you do an interview. Probe why he failed in SD. What did he learn? What would he do different here. It’s interviewing 101 and done in all professions. Remember, Pete Carroll was an NFL failure before he wasn’t.

The problem is I don’t have confidence Jerry will or can conduct a thoughtful, probative interview. He, more so than any other GM, would benefit from enlisting an outside consulting firm or individual.

Lynn will be offered the offensive coordinator role for the Cowboys. He specializes in the run game. Every person they brought in but Kellen and Saleh are auditioning for the offensive and defensive coordinator’s roles. Jerry is deciding between Kellen and Saleh for his head coach.

I always want a brother to have a fair chance at leading a team. With that being said, he had his chance and he failed miserably. My answer to this is HELL NAW.
I wouldn't say he failed miserably. He finished with a winning record.

actually my post makes the most sense if you're going to accuse the Cowboys of something as if it's isolated on an island and they only do it...

but there's actual facts to disprove what you said ,that I'm allowed to expand that discussion with my facts ,that the NFL does this all the time... apparently Dan Quinn in our division is a retread before that they hired Rivera, Mike McCarthy was a retread but in 2020 he was the best we have the facts and it's not even close that he had the most success out of all the hires in 2020..
literally Jim Harbaugh a fan fave here as they wanted him, , is a retread and he's doing pretty well year one over there and pretty much almost every coach hired, I'd say 75% or in some ways a retread...
so that is a standard practice in the NFL,
therefore I get to bring it up because you're acting like this is only hey Jerry Jones or Dallas Cowboys thing to do also bringing back Ex-players as coaches, that is also a standard in most sports, but it includes the NFL but since you're making Dallas a point of emphasis if it's something they do that nobody else does.
I have to make sure you have all the facts and you did not you want to pick on Jerry, you want to accuse the front office, so you just try to make it like it's them only, and I'm making sure there's clarity.
so don't POST something unless you understand we're all allowed to reply as long as it's relative and it's very relative to this information.
