Told anonymously to Ed Werder, you say? I'll take that to the bank, then.
What I find weird is the typical childish reaction around here whenever they hear something they think threatens their fandom.
Werder reported Dez would skip offseason workouts. And that's all he reported.
You replied oh, Ed Werder with an unofficial source.
I pointed out the typical fan tendency to immediately lash out at the messenger when the message makes their face paint run.
You responded saying Dez would have a great year in Dallas next year.
You don't see the problem? It lies with you, not Ed Werder.
I don't think it was irrelevant, obviously.
I suppose I have a hard time mustering up a lot of respect for the opinions of somebody who proven he's is willing to peddle negativity and unsourced stories in order to get attention on the internet. Any specific reason why you seem to find that threatening? It's weird that you'd come out so strong in defense of a Werder rumor.
Just for arguments sake, what are some things he has reported that were wrong? I'm asking so that I can form an opinion based on facts, and not just because people don't like how he looks.
I put the chances of Werder being right about this somewhere between slim and none.
No one should take that comment seriously.
Take it for what its worth. If true, I don't blame him.
You really don't need Werder's tweet to recognize that Dez likely would not be present for offseason activities, up to and including training camp.
I would also bet that it never gets to that, because Dallas tagging Dez is only to buy time before signing him to a mega deal in a few months.
I would sure as hell blame him and be fine with trading him. When you franchise a guy, you are playing by the rules. The player is on your roster, and you are paying him a great deal of money while continuing to work on a longer term deal. If Dez then skips all offseason workouts, I would have a big problem with that.
Once he signs the franchise, every cent of that 13-15 million is guaranteed money, so why skip offseason work? Makes zero sense to me.

it ultimately could hurt dez because if the doesn't participate he is at higher risk of injury during season especially early on. The last thing a player wants is to deal with injury in his contract year. If I am Dez...I take the $13 mill guaranteed and have even better year than '14 and then get paid. Dez proves nothing by sitting out.
Don't blame him at all. Last thing he needs is to tear an ACL in non-contact offseason activities like Sean Lee. Very wise decision and solid counseling from his advisors.

I don't disagree that that's what Dez would probably do, but I'm so sick of that creepy little worm and his unsourced rumors.
I don't know ... Mr. 70s porn mustache is probably right.... But he probably asked the question. Dez answered.
