Yep.
Fear of the unknown for Jerry is the primary motive to stand pat with his SleepNumber salesman.
He's the face of Jerry's comfort zone in which the team is not a bottom feeder but never a true contender. Dak is Jerry's prime example of this. Marketing genius. Clueless QB evaluator GM.
Jerry's head coach choice is the same.
While I agree with every word of your OP Mountain I have zero confidence in Jerry moving on based on contract and how Dak's release would show publicly how wrong they were in investing in and evaluating him.
And Jerry is big on keeping negative public perception off him.
They'll ultimately choose to scapegoat someone or something other than Dak to explain off this year's failures.

A lot of losing in multiple years would need to take place in order for any real changes at QB to take place imo.

And Dak is just good enough to satisfy Jerry of being "relevant."

It would be nice if they took the most important position on the team seriously instead of wasting the last 15 years on undrafted and 4th round talent at the position.

All I'm saying is, it's pretty tough to draft a QB, and our track record doesn't indicate that we'll be successful in replacing Dak. Obviously, they haven't poured a lot of resources into the QB search lately, but by all rumored accounts of our interest in QBs, we're not the best evaluators at the position.

I remember being lucky enough that an UFA pulled us out of the QB desert in 2006.

I remember when we were in love with Wentz in 2016 after the senior bowl.

I remember us trying to trade up for Paxton Lynch.

I hear people say that "we don't appreciate what we have" and must have forgotten about "the QBs between Aikman and Romo".

We're still there. It's just a little prettier.

It's time for this organization to take the QB position seriously again. I'd much rather be on the QB search than be handcuffed to a QB that requires everything to be perfect around him. The margin for error in roster building is incredibly small with a QB of Dak Prescott's skill level. We have to hit on everything to succeed with Dak at QB and that takes a lot of smarts and luck.

You're not going to draft the next Patrick Mahomes if you handcuff yourself to Alex Smith.
More like "Hell" as having our team carry inepto Prescott and his massive paycheck is 2nd biggest reason (After having GM Jerry) for our continuous hunger.
Oh well, what's another year.....:banghead:

I must have missed the elimination game. May be coming in 2 weeks but its much more than the QB but keep on with your whining
The water sure is cold.

You should hop on that lifeboat while there's still time.

There is no reward for people sticking by Dak.

It’s not worth hitting rock bottom to draft the next stud at QB.
In the 24 draft both Caleb Williams and Drake Maye have the look of true franchise QBs and huge difference makers. I dont agree with this premise but it is unlikely they will be within sniffing distance of drafting either one.

But there’s several QB’s coming out not in the first round worth looking at who could be groomed to replace Dak in a couple years.

But Jethro isn’t interested in having real competition or a heir apparent on the roster.

Man I'm just not as in love with Caleb Williams as everyone else is.

A bit off-topic/wrong forum, but I'm not a fan.

I’m leery of owner and son, and in turn their personnel staff, finding a qb. They were trying desperately to grab Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook the last time they were looking to draft and develop a qb.

While Dak is laying there floating on that door while letting you sink to the bottom for him lol
More like you're trying to grab his foot and pull yourself up on the door and he's boot stomping your face and sending you to a watery grave to preserve himself

I've said this for a long time and I've caught hell for it, but I'm more convinced of it now than ever. Dak's about Dak. Period.
He's not the inspirational leader his adherents claim he is.

He's arrogant, he's got his, and he doesn't much care about the rest. You can tell a lot of his teammates are starting to figure this out.

you're not alone. I don't see him as an NFL franchise QB. time will tell but I agree with you.

Have they shown an ability to draft the next stud QB?
The last one they drafted in the first round was in 1989. So we have no idea. The only other QB they drafted with a premium pick was Quincy Carter in the middle of the 2nd round in 2001.

I was actually jealous of the Football Team yesterday with Sam Howell. Would love to have that guy playing QB here.

You know the odd thing about Howell was that this team liked him. Who knows how much and who in the room liked him.
But, if you like a QB in the draft, you take him, as long as it's not a huge reach in the 1st. I like Jake Ferguson a lot, but you take the QB 10/10 times over a TE in day 3. Maybe they were sold he'll be there in the 5th and Washington blindsided them.

Now, who is to say how Howell pans out, along with Ferguson. Ferg does seem like he could supplant Schultz next year as long as he develops over the offseason

oh you ought to know enough by now Im not tied to dak. I just know football and realize that hes not the only issue nor is he the biggest. Hes here you might as well get used to it. Youre just an attention seeking whiny fan who loves to troll and unfortunately you seem to have a cult following of other whiny *****. Some are still salty romo fans. some are super bowl or bust fans

this just isnt that serious to me. I want a super bowl but I know as long as this buffon owner is here its unlikely unless alot of things go our way and quite frankly thats ok. We got 2 more weeks of football most likely its been a good season
