For the third time, this is the question:

Can you point out an NFL team that doesn't give up 7 more points per game when their best defensive player is out?

No I can't. And I can't be bothered to try as I see no point in it. I don't know what you're trying to achieve with the question.

Wait, so two plays are directly responsible for the last two losses?

In a nutshell,,, YES!o_O
as all this forum meltdown would still be on a slow simmer instead of the rampant boil over going down around here.

You absolutely can and absolutely should. The defense not doing it's job is to blame, not a muffed punt or poor effort on an underthrown football.
There wasn't nothing "under thrown" in fact it had a bit more rifling than #83 could obviously handle,,, yet, should we have won those last two games and concealed our apparent weaknesses on defense awhile longer, the nature of the game dictates injuries to key personnel eventually,,, we're one and done if we even make the post season, even if #4 & co. Starts hanging 42+ points per game the competition will hang 52 on us

Sure, but if we're so completely reliant on one injury-plagued player, what kind of shape are we truly in?

I don't think it's a matter of being reliant on one player. Rather it's the dominoes that fell with the loss of that player. Taking Lee out of the lineup meant having to play Jaylon Smith in situations where he was easily exploited. We don't have to have an All-Pro, just someone who can adequately pass defend. Someone with the ability to move laterally and who won't get "caught up in the wash" when defending the run. Even if he could best be described as only "serviceable", it would change the end results for this defense. Jaylon was fairly effective when his snaps were limited to 15-20 per game in specific situations. At this time, he's having to play 60-70 snaps due to Lee not being available.

On, and by the way, the "injury-plagued" is a bit overstated. Counting the two games Lee has missed this year, the number of games he's missed since 2014 is...two.

Agreed. I'd like to see if Butler plays over Williams too. That's a change that looks warranted for the offense.

While I would like to see Dallas take advantage of Butler's sped at times, I fail to see any huge upside to playing him over TWill. He's nowhere near the blocker, and his hands are no more dependable.

Get him more snaps in certain situations, but (in my opinion) in the long run, playing him over Williams will have a negative effect.

People can debate the designation however they wish to. Lee's been hurt a lot in his career. He's a great player, but one that's missed quite a few games too. Both descriptions are accurate.

I think he's more of a threat out there, if nothing else. And more productive with a far lower snap count.

I gave you a ' like' for your utilizing the word "sped" ,,, although I'm of a strong disagreement between these two receivers with #4 at the helm as it seems #19 is better tuned in,,, while #9 IMO could tune into #83 pretty easilyo_O

It was not a perfect pass. It was underthrown and needed the WR to fight for it. Williams simply did not go after it as he should have.

If Dallas' running game wasn't such as big part of the offensive plan, I'd be in favor of Butler 100%. Blocking is a HUGE weakness in his game, however, and actually one of TWill's strengths. So as long as their pass catching ability is comparable, I think Williams gets the advantage.
