Serious question, who would you rather have coaching this team, Garrett or Belichick? Let me rephrase it, In today's NFL, is there any other coach you'd rather have? If so, how many?
Because from what you post about him it seems you think he is a heck of a HC.

I think he has the makings of a great coach. I also think that the game management thing is so grossly over the top that it is not funny. Every coach...and that includes your beloved Bellichick...has made mistakes that have hurt their team's chance of winning.

It started with the bogus ice the kicker and grew from there. Boniol was screaming for the TO because he saw something. Garrett trusted his kicking coach.

Now all you do is keep saying game management, no actual proof, just opinion. he runs the ball to eat clock and you ***** (NE), he throws it to get points before the half you *****(NO). He can't win. The other team makes a play, his team does not execute the play it does not matter...it is predetermined, it is Garrett's fault.

It is a witch hunt and I am sick of it.

Based on your standards Tom Landry would not have lasted past 1963 and if you say otherwise you are ******* liars.

the cupboard wasn't exactly empty when he got there. team had grown tired of Reid and it was time for him to go. plus last year was Foley's grow up year. we knew vick sucked. and we can also see Reid is still capable and probably needed a change of scenary. I am not dismissing Kelly as a good coach, but he didn't exactly perform a miracle. he did have some nice pieces to work with.
You missed the point of the thread, this thread is not to praise Kelly as the nest coach ever and miracle worker, just to show what a good HC can do, unlike Garrett.

You still didn't answer the question and by the way this is 2014 not 1963 (51 years later), totaly different circumstances, totally different era and a totally diffenrent sport, very bad argument on your part, I mean common.

The problem with this franchise is the neutered head coaching position and the lack of accountability. It's impossible to hold the HC accountable because of the pervasive GM meddling and it's impossible to hold the GM accountable because he owns the team. Did Garrett pick the new defensive philosophy or put Callahan in charge of play calling? Did he choose the players on this roster or cause the decimation by injury? Some of his actions do look suspect, but clearly the larger problems that spill over into everything else are not his doing.

Haha even funnier how you don't answer a question because you are inclined to take Garrett over Belichick or maybe even over every other HC in the NFL and that buddy is just flat out ridiculous, not even worth discussing, I really hope Garrett pans out, I really do, I'll be pulling for him because I love my Cowboys, I just think it's gonna be another wasted year, anyway, Happy new year.

BZ, just out of curiosity, how long would you give Garrett? What would it take for you to pull the plug?

The same as any coach, taking a step back under optimum conditions. And no playing 26 different players in your front 7 is not optimum conditions. Neither was playing your #4 center with both guards hurt and losing your NT, both inside LBs and having Ware play with one arm the second half of the season.

If people would honestly look at the circumstances instead of blind hatred they would realize that being 3 points from the playoffs this season was actually damn good coaching.

While I disagree about Garrett, I respect your opinion and hope he becomes a successful coach next year. Thanks.

There is never going to be a season where injuries don't play a major factor in a team's performance. Green Bay lost their quarterback and best WR for a good chunk of the season and still made the playoffs. When will the excuses stop with you and your boy Garrett?

Again a terrible comparison. GB won the division because Trestman gave games away by playing Cutler and Detroit just fell apart going 1-6 down the stretch.

Green Bay's making the playoffs wasn't because they were coached well enough to overcome key injuries (they only won 2 of the 8 games Rodgers missed, and each of those was only by 1 point). It was really because Rodgers's injury kept him out of 8 games instead of 9.
