What About Top 10 WR?

You forgot Mike Sellars, Hes a touchdown machine!

I didnt forget Sellers. I just know that his year was more of an anomaly. More TDs in one season receiving than over his entire career.

So on your list you have Fitz over Boldin although Boldin was the more proven player. Maybe teams game planned around Boldin which afforded Fitz more opportunities ? Maybe ?

Name the Commanders primary receiving weapons from last season. NM , Moss, Cooley, Portis, Patten.

Cooley was rarely in a position to take it to the house and has marginal speed at best.

Patten couldnt create separation at all last season.

Portis was the last look in most situations.

Leaving that one guy. The # 1 option who managed to be one of the top WRs in the NFL last season. Teams definitely game planned for Moss.

My point was for many lists not to include him in the top ten, after being one of the best in the league is just homerism.

I disagree .
I do not see Moss as the guy making the tough catch over the middle for that big 1st down .I see him as a guy that will beat you deep but I just do not see him as that go to guy.I put stats aside .
A good example is the 1st Wash/Dallas game , Moss did show up big in the last 3 minutes of the game but that was it and if Dallas would have had any kind of offense or the Commanders defense wopuld not have played so well him not showing up til games end just would not have cut it, Then add to the fact that the Dallas defense simply blew the coverage.I am not trying to take away MOss accomplishments that game just trying to put it into perspective.

My list is far from perfect and it could be argued that I missed on a few WRs Boldin, Wayne,McCardell etc ....But I really do not feel This Moss was one of them....Like I said earlier I would compare MOss with T.Glenn.

One more side note if I remember correctly the Commanders offense did not exactly light things up last year....

But you see Randy Moss or Steve Smith as those guys ?

Commanders Offense was #10 or 11 in total offense last season. Not exactly shabby either.

Steve Smith without a doubt.....
That guy is amazing.....I do not like his side acts but that guy can not be single covered and he gose over the middle quite often...

Randy Moss you may be correct but I just could not get myself to leave him off the list....

Now If the runnig back have a top ten and your boy Portis is not there then I'd say you would have a real gripe.....

For Randy Moss I think I picked him because he scores a boat load of TD's

Smiths top plays, Quick sideline throw, deep post, deep fly.

It is a rare occasion when Smith catches a tough catch over the middle for a first down. He is usually bailing Delhomme out in those situations because Delhomme make such poor second reads.

Smith likes the out play much more.

Now his speed ? Fugghhettt about it. He is indeed a speedster.

Portis should be considered top ten as well.

But Moss below some of the guys listed is just silly.

Well he hasnt had a long NFL career. He played in the CFL for a while and until the skins signed him he hadnt been given a shot. Trust me he is a weapon!

Kleenex or not, to not consider the guy top ten over guys like Andre Johnson, Roy Williams and Mason, is just pitifully homerish.

How can it be pitifully homerish if only one of the WR's on most everybody's post is a Cowboy?

Now...if everyone said that Patrick Clayton or Keyshawn Johnson was better than Moss....than that would be pitifully homerish.

Moss is a Top 10 WR, no doubt about it. But imo, TO is better....much.

1. Steve Smith
2. Terrell Owens
3. Chad Johnson
4. Hines Ward
5. Santana Moss
6. Roy Williams
7. Anquan Boldin
8. Randy Moss
9. Torry Holt
10. Plaxico Burress

I took players that I think you have to game plan around and I do not think S.Moss is one of them.
I thinkhe is a very good player but in the Terry Glenn mode not the T.Owens mold....

Moss had a great year. This should be measured over consistent performance. Odds are Moss will fall back to his average #'s this year. Less than 1,000 yds, 5 or fewer touchdowns, middle of the pack. Guys like TO and Smith perform consistently at a high level, so they are time tested and better.

Period, Terry Glenn, is not, nor will he ever be, in this top 10 bracket!!! Read it and let it sink in people. He's injury prone like no other WR, possibly player, before him. The guy is the invisible man, literally, when double coverage comes his way...forget about triple, no team is stupid enough to think they need it. Just because you like his smile and would like to be the Mr. America to his Mrs. does not make him worth a dime in the real world. There's a reason why the Patriots so easily parted ways with him, as did the packers. Parcells is the only one that's truly ever believed in him, and we can all see how that is wavering just by him knowing how badly a player like TO's calibur was needed at that position and him going out against the league and possibly 20 million other forces in this world and getting him. Terry is just dang lucky his pink slip wasn't handed to him with Key.

This year's injury...lung damage, from constantly running in TO's dust...maybe even a little herpes if some of you suitors got your way, lol. Gawd, the orgy, some of you would have with Terry Glenn and Drew Henson, it'd make ancient roman bath-houses blush, lol.

If these stats didn't belong to a Commander, he would be in the top 3 of all of your lists.

Do you think TO matches these stats this year? If you answer this question - yes, remember that you are putting your faith in the devil.

Its not all about matching numbers. Just wait and see how TO will help out Witten and Glenn.

I completely agree with you in the same manner that Lloyd, ARE & Patten will benefit greatly from Santana presence and vice versa.

My original point though was that 1483 and 9 is in the top 5 WR without question.

I said nothing about Santana Moss one way or the other. Do you see a top 10 list from me? Uh, no. My comment was about his weeping and wailing. There's no crying in football. It was embarrassing.

Steve Smith would have not have been number 1 in the NFC last year if Tory Holt played all 16 games & T.O. played the whole season.

none of those WRs are on our team

He's probably trying to state that you guys are looking for receivers to replace Santana Moss, who should be on that top 10 list, just because he plays for the Commanders.
