What are some realistic ways to fix this team?

Because they still have Kellen Moore calling triple reverses that go backwards, there's a reason he wore a visor the whole time after college and somehow hung around long enough to be able to stop having to suit up with pads on. Lamb is actually a #1, but when the rest of the guys out there are total JAGs the good defenses end up committing 3 guys to cover him. It's not very complicated, Kellen wants to call what Kellen wants to call, and the gameplan was to check it down to Noah Brown the entire game. I've already started calling him "Checkdown" Noah Brown. What is peculiar to me is how committed to these UDFAs and 7th round guys they are, so much that they will bury their 5th round draft pick, with prototypical size and 4.37-4.43 in the 40, on the depth chart behind Houston and Brown, the 239th pick from 2017, second to last receiver taken that year, who are both possession receivers who run 4.5s on a good day. The WR depth chart should be Lamb, Fehoko, Turpin, and Tolbert until Gallup gets back into the mix, at which point Fehoko, Turpin, and Tolbert start to rotate in on downs where they aren't running 5 wide. But I am sure Moore hasn't even thought of this as a possibility. All week in practice he will probably have Rush working on that sweet sweet checkdown to Brown.
......there's a reason Noah Brown hasn't touched the field during his tenure in the league, beyond ST. The pure audacity of this team to think a miracle has occurred with his play is beyond comprehension now. And then to toss Houston in there, tells you this team is unprepared for NFL competition. This staff and FO is a laughing stock. You can't make this stuff up. While Zeke has declined as any RB with the carries he's had......KMoore is just as responsible for the offensive decline, and Philbin's hands are in this too.

We need to trade for a true No.1 WR. Dak would not do without it.

I kinda miss those Parcells days. He could take a crummy team and make it a close game by coaching up his players andrunning the ball along with playing a little D. They were actually boring but if they lost Parcells took the full blame. Here nobody wants to accept blame from ownership/ GM all the way down.

Unless the entire family gets wiped out by a hurricane on their yacht, there is no hope with this team. We have a sample of nearly 3 decades at this point.

The success of this organization during the Jones regime has always depended on having enough talent to overcome ownership, bad coaching and the culture. With or without Dak this team clearly lacks the necessary talent to offset the Jones effect. Short of a miraculous repenting by the front office, the fans hopes will languish in perpetuity.

Most realistic way to fix team is get rid of Jerry and Sttephen, at this point almost anyone is better.

Agree nothing will change with Jones (either) as owners.

First priority is fixing QB. You can not be competitive in this league without an Elite QB. Dak is a fraud, always was a fraud and we will be paying for it for years. But we have room in the cap.. go and get a QB. Fix that.. and the rest will follow.
The most important position is QB and ours is broken going into year 2 of a 4 year deal. Hoping I’m right! Can we trade him; I think the cap hit would be Hugh. Dak would have to restructure his contract if he wanted out. Not happening! Let’s hope that our rookies develop into the players we hope they would become. Smith played rather well for having limited reps at LT and recovering from a high ankle injury. We don’t know where we will be when Dak returns in the win/loss category; but if we are bad I would have my ears open to making trades on veterans for picks. Zach Martin comes to mind. He is a great player that is over 30. We are rebuilding on the fly, relying on youth. If we are in a position to get a QB because of a poor season; then we should draft one. This years rookies look more promising for the 2023 draft and would probably replace Rush right away next season. I’m thinking draft because Jerry is probably going to pay Lamb and Diggs in the off season and Jerry and Stephen are going to say we had to save money for them. We are dealt a rough blow so let’s see what the season unfolds.

Besides the obvious (hire a real GM), how would you fix this team going forward?

For me we need upgrades at these positions (in order):

1. QB

2. DT

3. RT

4. LG (im leaving Tyler at Tackle and forcing Tyron to retire)

5. CB2

Now the obvious issue with trying to upgrade those positions, is the stupid team-building philosophy adopted by dumb and dumber (drafting only). We wont be able to fix both lines in one offseason because they dont even try in free agency.

Id also change the Head Coach. Obviously, its damn near impossible for any coach to thrive here with the insane owner, but we need a new voice on offense. Kellen has to go, and as long as Fat Mike is here, so will he.

The first need is OL and WR.

What is mind boggling to me is that they are paying Jaylon Smith what the Rams are paying Wagner and Smith isnt even in the NFL.

Wagner SURE would have helped last night. Fournette in no way runs like he did yesterday with Parsons and Wagner back there.

Jerry is going to the shower to pick a new QB, MM is going to get a massage after a feed at the buffet, Steve is checking the dumpster to find value. It could have been worse last night but without a viable QB this team will be stuck in mediocracy. Not sure at this point if there are any quality QB's out there but Jerry will be wheeling and dealing to find one until his super star QB is back.

Since Jerry Jones will not remove himself, you have to start where it’s actually feasible.

1) The HC and OC need to go. I can’t stand watching this Roast Beef Tech college style offense. Penalties continue to be a problem, which is a direct reflection on coaching. Usually I roll my eyes when people drop cliches like “the will to win” but it’s actually true with this team — also a leadership problem.

2) Focus on the offensive line. Nothing else works without it. Draft or spend money in FA next year.

3) QB. Prescott just isn’t good enough, and he is woefully overpaid. You could move this higher, but I have it further down the list due to the nature of his contract limiting the team’s options with him.

4) Maybe WR. It’s tough to say how much of an issue this is right now with how badly the QB and OL played. I was also wanting to see them with Gallup and Washington.

The biggest problem is management has bungled the salary cap with QB and RB, and neither of those positions are winning games. But again, removing Jerry Jones is not a realistic option.

The opposite side of Tank is on was continually gashed on the edge by Fournette . Time to play young picks like Williams at Edge and Cox at LB.

The team needs a lot and the team thinks a few bandaids on some parts, denial and then some drack picks will save the day.

Rinse repeat. I agree with your list OP but I doubt we'll ever see the FO be aggressive again in addressing holes in the offseason
