Nahh, he cut McIver because he wouldn't tip him for the haircut!

The point is same, 2 game on an RFA contract or not. Irvin and Emmitt got their fair share but they were playing with a love of the game and not because they were obsessed with money.

I remember him talking about eating his breakfast cereal with water and competition for food at the dinner table being a real deal. That's a level of poor most people couldn't comprehend. Love that dude so much.

For the record (and not to show you up) he cut McCiver with the scissors because he cut in front of Michael for a hair cut. Crazy dude.

I've read stories forever too that everyone one of his 16 siblings would get a new car from him if theirs broke down, or the Doctor paid if their child was sick.

I was always under the impression Emmitt didn't hold out, but did not have a contract and that's why he didn't play those two games. They were still bargaining on the new contract after his old one was completed. "Holding Out" to me is someone who is under contract, but refuses to play unless he is given a bigger one. Was Emmitt under contract when he missed those two games to start the season? I could be wrong. I'm starting to get oldtimers disease.

these two have brought so much life to this franchise. yet we still have some who are intent on messing with this chemistry.
Exactly! Those two are the reason this team/fans are having fun. It's been so long since I've actually had fun watching them play instead of being on pins and needles waiting for the inevitable screw up. Those two are like two kid brothers. No wonder they room together on the road and hang out off the field.

That is why I give him and Dez such slack.......no one can comprehend what their upbringing was like but their passion and positive outlook never wavered

I don't get the fascination with shoes by pro athletes these days. No offense, but I think they think about them as fashion statements more than women.

Smith held out because he wanted to make more than Thurman Thomas and be the highest paid running back, he made that no secret.

Other way around.

Irvin cut McIver in the line, claiming seniority. They started yelling at each other, then Irvin shoved McIver, and McIver responded by punching Irvin in the face. Irvin then grabbed the scissors, and stuck them in McIver's neck.

I don't get any of their styles.......watching guys like Cam and Zeke and Antonio Brown in football and Westbrook and Durant and Steph Curry in the NBA I know I am way past it

The worst is Odell Beckham. I bet that poof changes his shoes depending on what new color he sprays on his head.

At least they were all bonding at the Barber Shop and the White House.....can't buy that kind of chemistry(actual Mike bought a ton of that kind of nose chemistry)

Crazy thing about that era was that Michael NEVER failed a drug test. Was the White House still going when McIver joined the team? Crazy days in Dallas back then. I used to joke that if Jerry really wanted to win again he'd invest in a few Colombian farms.
