What are those?

Smith held out because he wanted to make more than Thurman Thomas and be the highest paid running back, he made that no secret.

He wanted to be paid more than any Non-QB, but he won a Rushing Title with a paycheck of 465K the year before and had played for peanuts the previous three years.

It was also a screwy system back then with Plan B Free Agency and that kind of thing. It was before the salary cap also. Emmitt was a Restricted Free Agent that could sign with another team, but Jerry could match it to keep him No one made Emmitt an offer because they knew Jerry would match it.

I member Kid and Play and De La Soul but not in blond and green versions
Blonde high-top fades were pretty popular when I was growing up. Green is a new thing, but blonde high-top fades isn't. A dude I went to school with, straightened and crimped his and had it stand up on its on.

All my HS friends were looking like Robert Smith from the Cure or Flock of Seagulls but I went to private school

Regardless of what Smith was wanting, he wasn't under contract anymore with the Cowboys at that point. He was trying to get a deal to re-sign that paid him what he was worth. If there is no contract, it is not a hold out. What Scandrick did IS a hold out.

Love the youthful energy...chemistry seems genuine too.

As an aside, my favorite "what are those?" moment occurred when a kid at Michael Jordan's basketball camp asked Jordan "what are those?" The kids erupted and the old man had no clue about the joke...however...when he revealed that the shoes he had on were a pair of Jordan's that haven't even been released yet...that was classic! #Humbled
Chemistry---first thing that comes to mind is the Horsemen,a well oiled machine out to win championships and willing to whatever it takes to become Champion.

They are different but Emmitt was offered a good deal but he held out for more money. I am not saying it was a true hold out but it is still fact that he would not sign until he got more money than Thomas.

The big 3 feels like Dak/Zeke/Beasley. Those guys are good and have fun like kids.

It really wasn't a great deal he was first offered. Jones was trying to pay him what the Lions were paying Sanders. In retrospect, most experts agree Sanders got fleeced. Jones was trying to do the same to Smith. Smith wasn't having it.

This is just great chemistry! I welcome the future, to have a qb and rb come into the league together is crazy good. It's a great time to be a fan of this team.
Last time Dallas had a rookie QB and rookie RB was 1968 Roger and Calvin.

Actually their love for one another goes way beyond words -- practically makes me verklempt, in fact . . . (as my heart beats wildly.)

NOTE: I am NOT gay -- perish the thought!! G-r-r-r!
