He was definitely a happy surpise this year. Some stats on him

40 catches on 53 targets (75.5%)
475 yards
4 TD's
65% of his snaps wide
35% of his stats in the slot
A note: his breakout game week 14 he played 59.5% outside and 40.5% in the slot

Thats pretty good production for a #3 WR on a team with Lamb and Pickens. Similar to what we got in Wilson's walk year. His ability to play inside and out really helps us matchup hunt with Lamb with teams that dont have there top CB follow the top WR.

What do you expect from Flournoy this year

IF for some odd reason Pickens was not on the Cowboys this season I could only hope for a huge leap to a complimentary WR2 doubling this production altogether.

IF Pickens is still here I believe he will continue growing in his WR3 role with the ability to spot start outside/inside as he demonstrated last year.

Dak likes Ferg too much for that WR3 to get an extreme amount of volume so just continue to take full advantage of every target he's given.

Ferg is basically a release valve. Now did show down field ability in 2023, but very little of that sense. Ferg is pretty much going to be Flournoy's competition for targets, and how many Flournoy can get will likely depend on protection. If we get better play from OT's, Flournoy may be able to punish teams down field from focusing too much in Lamb and Pickens

He had two 100 yard games, one at the Jets (starting in place of injured Lamb) and again at the Lions (in place of Lamb who got a concussion before halftime). That week 14 game explains why he played 59.5 percent wide, he took Lamb's spot.

To me he is a faster and more explosive version of Michael Gallup. Can make contested catches. Would like to see him do a little more in the way of making tacklers miss, but he's versatile and a good route runner. He's what the Cowboys thought Jalen Tolbert would be.

I really like him and think he can be a solid number 2 receiver, if he has to be. As a 3rd WR he can be elite (in that role).

I think Flournoy has a lot of talent and can be pretty successful in the NFL as a WR3. He could play WR2 for the right teams. He should have been developed more as a rookie. The Cowboys wasted a year on Tolbert.

Flournoy has some size and he looks like he can block a little. If he develops that ability he could be a real asset to the Cowboys.

Better measurables than I realized.

I don't want to depend on him as the #2 WR in 2026, but maybe in 2027.

It would be interesting to see if stats for the games when CeeDee was out (i.e. When he was more of a #2 WR role than #3).

Good call. His overall RAS is elite actually, which I did not know until looking it up.

Mixed bag when lamb was out. He barely played against GB, 6/114 on 21 routes against NYJ, but was pretty ordinary against Carolina going 3/30 on 25 routes.

I’m with you, I really like Flournoy but I like to give him another year before throwing him into a full time #2 role.

In terms of measurables, he has what you would look for as a #2 WR. Is he that good a WR? Dont know yet. He could be a candidate for that role if we dont extend Pickens in 2027. We will have to see what kind of growth. He is older. He will be 27 in October. However I think that can be overrated as far as limiting upside

I think what you are looking with these low usuage sub package WR's is a guy that can let you use your 1 and 2 strategically, as well as occasionally punishing a defense for leaving you alone. Ced Wilson with Cooper and Lamb is a mold for this type of guy. Flournoy could be a better version of that.

But similar to what @xwalker is saying, he really needs to show more before he is the discussion to be a #2

An excellent 3rd receiver.

Here is a stat to like. He had a TD to Target ratio of 1 out of 13.25 targets. Thats a better ratio than 7 of the NFL's top 10 in TD catches

This is something I believe Noah Brown had some trouble with...being productive on limited snaps. Most athletes feel better getting in the groove. But it's not always possible. If you can find a player productive in spot duty...keep him.

How do you "show more" than THIS? You gotta move him to #2 to SHOW more.

The cowboys can be one of the most mismanaged player scheme/management ever. We overplay some guys and underplay others. We let guys play injured when the shouldn't and sit when they should play.
