We are into his second offseason as Director of Pro Personel. How do you feel he has done so far?

Outside of Ro and Irving what has he done? Butler maybe, jury still out on that one.

Not sure if this is his philosophy or Stephens, but we go after bargain bin 1st round picks that didn't pan out. Our Claiborne would be right up our ally if he played for somebody else. Selvie, Claiborne (the DE we are looking at), Ro, etc are all of those type of players. Wouldn't be surprised if Ayers is on our short list now that the gents are stacked, another 1st rounder!

As for Undrafted FA's we have always been good at finding them although we blew it not getting Rawls last season!

Selvie was a 7th rounder, we can't sign everybody just because ESPN and NFL Network says they're good. The guys signed today were available for a reason, either their old team couldn't afford them or didn't want them anymore.

Im asking more for an opinion on his Dallas career so far

Claiborne has a learning deficiency and has difficulty reading and translating that onto the field. He needs to be hands on in practice to improve. He started and finished the year and improved consistently. His zone reads and the pick play were two things that I saw him get better at.

I don't know what they circumstance with his knees is so I cannot comment on that but if he passes a physical then he passes a physical. People that get mad at a player because of spent cost are amusing. Wrong transference.

The team has done well in the first round the last few seasons. They need to improve in the later rounds. I think McClay has improved the team's scouting overall, Garrett as well.

He came to fore after the miscommunication between Ciskowski and the coaches the year we drafted Fred. Selve, McClain, Durant, J Crawford, Bernadeau, Mincey, Gachkar, Butler, Irving, and Livings all contributed to one level or another and were universally cheap. The only major concern I have is Weeden.

He sucks. Stop it already. Im not mad at him, I just know what he is.......... A dumb football player

I think if it was up to McClay, he would have plugged a hole or two in FA today.

Does he give the scouts nicknames?

Being serious, who comprises our scouting staff lately?

Since Bill Parcells showed up and shook it all up, what has changed? Who came back? Who left? We know that some of the same lackies that have been around for 25 years plus are still around.

All in all, the talent acquisition business is only as good as the troops are on the ground.

I just wish they would publish who our scouts are and the responsibilities more often.

Especially since we draft better than the Patriots and all. Those hard working men deserve pub.

I think you are projecting.

McClay was probably nodding like everyone else when Jerry and Stephen Jones gave their final free agency pep talk a few days ago.

If you don't want to discuss it with me then don't respond. You're entitled to your opinion but given your hyperbole I don't think what you say is an informed opinion.

He certainly made some mental mistakes but he got better as the year went on.

perhaps it is a projection, but McClay can probably see that a 4-12 team has holes that the draft can't fix alone. Its the GM who thinks that a surgically repaired Romo will put them in contention for the next five years, without debate!

I think we have been better off with McClay then any previous time when JJ was running the whole show. we have definitely improved in the area of contracts and salary.
