Mercy. Was that a shot. Hope the coaches teach the kid that was a NO NO. But hey, the kid "got some spunk".

sure, but it was enjoyable to watch.
does coming from the side make it legal?

Yes I believe so, it was not in the back, it was not helmet to helmet, it was a high hit where it should have been, not below the waist.

The problem was it was a long way away from the play. Put it to within 5 yard, maybe even 8, then I think it would not have been called.

Punters are a wind breaking green cloud away from being soccer players. Short shorts and acting lessons on looking hurt from falling down.

If it was more near the play, it would have been a good hit, but it was way to far away from the play.

This is why he got penalized.

Basically they were calling unnecessary roughness because it was nowhere near the play, but I think that is a crappy call. If the returner breaks a few tackles...the punter is another potential tackler.

I think it is BS myself.

"If it was Dan Baily ...."

Speaking of Dan Bailey, would any of you guys condoning this be OK with it if Bailey was on the receiving end of a cheap shot like this?..... especially away from the play? Just wondering.....
