Seems the defense is pretty well set with no real need to bring in someone from the outside to fill a depth hole. Certainly, they could upgrade if possible.

It's the offense that appears to need some depth additions. We carried 4 TBs and right now we only have 3 and that's including Morris, and who knows what happens with him. We obviously need a 3rd QB for now (yes, I heard the Jones "we'd call Romo" angle). We typically carry four guards and really only have 3 and that includes Looney. Can Bell play there?

I forgot he was a FA. They may have to. That would leave only 5 LBs and they normally carry 6-7.

If we they want to give Collins I'm for that. If they are doing that because of how they feel about what they have at RT, Id like to bring in a better contigency then Bell if one became available

Bell is a darn good backup OG. Better than Looney.

1) I said I based if off the opening 53 last year. We opened with 2 FBs, not one. Only 5 WRs, not 6.
2) Collins was not left out. He's listed as one of the three OTs. The other OT you are thinking of is Bell but since we only carried 3 to start the year in 2016, those three would be Green, Smith and Collins.
3) Gathers is listed there as well. We will carry 3 TEs. Rico may be one of them. He may not be.

I wouldn't bring in another QB if Dak goes apparently Dallas is calling Romo right after the game. If he says no, season probably over anyway... sad to say but just tank it...

I would just carry the 3 TBs too. if Zeke goes down i think McFadden, Morris and the rest of the offense can pick up the slack.

I'd use those 2 "extra spots" for defense it's in a rebuilding phase Dallas needs to keep some of those bottom feeders that have potential to develop.

OL: You cannot discount Bell. I think he is better than Looney backing up OL. Green is the swing tackle so you have Bell, Looney, and Green backing up which is decent depth. The UDFA are not completely worthless and might merit keeping a 9th or more. I would rather churn the waiver wire than spend real assets here.

RB: Morris is a decent backup but he plays no ST and is inferior to McFadden. I would like to see us pluck a Darius Jackson of our own. Losing him was a blow. ST is a big plus but I would not be surprised to see Morris changed out over the last round or two of cuts. Smith is entrenched at FB as well as he blocked last year. He's my new pet cat though.

QB: Give me Fitzpatrick or Kaepernick. Moore turns the ball over with his noodle arm and his most appealing attribute to this point is that he was better than Cassell. That is not good enough. We have cap space and that would be a wise allocation of resources assuming they would take backup money.

WR: We're set. Butler, Lucky, Jones, Brown, and Switzer can all jockey for 2 maybe 3 spots and playing time.

TE: Depends on Hanna. If Hanna can go --I am not holding my breath here-- then we have a bit of a roster crunch. Rico is going to get his shot and Swaim is a talented H-back. Just need camp bodies.

DE: Irving Mayowa DLaw Taco Tapper Moore. There are 6 of them we aren't likely to keep them all. The inn is full.

DT: Thornton Collins Crawford Paea Ivie Carrell. Second verse same as the first. Full occupancy.

LB: Lee Jaylon Wilson Hitchens Nzeocha Wilber Wacka Gilchrist. Gachkar and Durant are still out there if we need them. Lotulelei is also on the squad. I think now that we don't need for Wilber to backup DE that Wacka and/or Gilchrist have a fair shot to beat him out and seize a roster spot. They have athletic talent but ST is the key.

CB: Scandrick Brown Carroll Awuzie Lewis White McFadden Seamster. We stacked.

S: Jones Heath Frazier Blanton Woods. Need camp bodies.

I'm OK with Moore for this year. Journeyman veteran QBs usually suck anyway.

I hope UDFA RB challenges Morris. The problem is that Morris is just too 1 dimensional. He is not a good blocker or receiver and does not play special teams. That makes him dead-weight on the 46 man game day roster.

Rico oddly seems like a lock based on Jerry and Stephen's feedback.

Add Bell on OL.

One of the 7th round DTs could push for either an 11th spot on DL or if Thornton is not on top of his game in the preseason.

Gachkar is gone. But Wilber is here.

DB seems set.

The roster seems very solid. They don't have a lot of Star players on defense (yet), but the depth all seems very solid.
