Hit a wall, didn't improve over previous year, still sucked...all of the above.

Maybe.

Then again, Will Grier did the exact same thing. I can't blame either one of them.
Man, I hope we don't end up regretting cutting Grier. My personal opinion is that Grier and Dak were becoming close and this was Jerry's way of sticking it to the man for not taking an extension yet. To top it off, he also brought in Lance.

The other very real possibility is his future contract. They know they are about to get hit hard next year with that $55 million and want to be in good shape next year as well. Jerral wants to go so-called all-in, but he wants to remain competitive after this year. So cap is likely a factor as well. Knocking a few off their high horses.

Also, did Farniok play against San Fran? I don't recall. But it doesn't seem they trust him versus some of the upper echelon competition.

Good question. I disagree with @America's Cowboy a lot. But he's right on this one. I can't seem to grasp what the coaching staff sees in Hoffman. I mean, I saw Sam Williams getting pissed in practice. But I don't think that has anything to do with Hoffman being so great as it does with Sam just acting a fool. I predict eventually he'll need a sitter like Dez. As for Hoffman, I hope we upgrade there in free agency. I literally saw him get lifted off the ground at left tackle.
I was not impressed with Hoffman...
