I'm an admitted Jones homer but without question he has looked the better back the past two games. Watching the game with friends (pro-Barber) one said that it seems Barber (today anyway) did not seem as eager for contact. Since when did he start running out of bounds? Aikman even commented on it.
Also, on several plays he had an alley to cut up field, albeit with a defender coming, and continued to bounce it outside. My friend said perhaps he is wearing down from his style.
I tend to agree with the original poster that we should have left the rotation alone.
Teams are indeed swarming to Barber more and therefore, everytime he attempts to bounce there is really nothing there anymore.
Jones' strength is the hard cut and up the field and this seemed, particularly these last two games, much more effective.
Last game and this one my friends and I were all saying in the second half as Barber continually got stuffed trying to bounce it, "why isn't Jones in there?" Hopefully, if not returning to the original rotation, we will at the very least, in the future, ride the hot hand.
