what has happened to our offense?

I notice Romo is not feeling pressure lately like he used to. He needs to realize he can't just hold the ball so long. He was big at getting the ball out fast and early when the season started. The more and more I watch him the more and more he is waiting. That can be good and it can be bad. One of those sacks today was on Romo pulling a Bledsoe.

that's because he is looking to attack down the field, which is what all of you seemingly want him to do

credit him for not finding anything doing down there, not forcing a bad pass, and going for the high percentage throws

romo has not really been on since the Rams. He was lousy against the Bills, and very tentative against the Pats. Today it was dink and dunk way too much. AND he was holding on to the ball too long. They need to practice with that 2.5 second horn some more.

Thats all fine and good but the OL can't hold blocks forever. Sooner or later you have to go and dump it underneath. I didn't see anything thrown long today btw cept that one to T.O. Other than that JG didn't call to many long balls today. The Vikes must have had good containment on all our WR's cuz Witten was KILLING them underneath.

One last thing. I am not saying I want Romo to change. I just would like to see a bit more smarts from him in those situations.

Well like you mentioned earlier in this thread...

"If you knew anything about football" you'd realize that the reason he was "dinking and dunking" AND holding the ball is cuz they were taking away our deep routes.

That darn'd Romo, damn'd if he does, damn' if he doesn't (throw deep into coverage).

Exactly.

If he had the same mindset at he did vs Buffalo he would have ended up 25 out of 39 with 325 yards, 1 TD and 3 picks.

Our D showed up ready and able. The O and special teams not so much.

How can you say the special team didn't show up? They pretty much won the game for us.

that's what happened, I didn't see the game, but they probably had double coverage on To alot of the time, and you only need single coverage on Crayton and esp. Hurd

you can't want Romo to look downfield and expect him to not hold onto the ball for too long, receivers have to get open too, Romo can't will that to happen

Romo has got to stop holding onto the ball. If it aint there quickly, get rid of it. The teams like the Giants will make him pay if he doesn't. We really miss Terry Glenn. Other teams have figured that we cannot get deep on them as long as they cover TO pretty good we are not a deep threat team.

Seriously. Blocked punt returned for six, coffin corner punts (and what must have been a tremendous average for McBriar), improved coverage on kicks and very solid coverage on punts...i don't get it.

So you are saying you can't wait until Terry Glenn gets back? Don't hold it in. Come on out and say it. ;)

I thought this was a well-managed game by Romo. It was an "Aikman-like" game. The Cowboys came out throwing the football in the 1st half and then let the running game take over in the 2nd half. It was vintage "1992 Cowboys"-- it wasn't like the earlier games the offense played this season.

The running game did not come untill the D was gassed. The 90s guys RAN IT DOWN everyones throat all game long, most of the time. This O line is NOTHING like those guys.

How many pro-bowlers were on that team again?

Nobody is saying this OL is anything close to the 90's OL. Did anyone say that?

Your memory is shotty.

The Cowboys of the early 90's were very aggressive in the first half with the pass and then the 2nd half was Emmitt time.

Winicki's right. I remember Emmitt geting a lot of his yards in the third and fourth quarters

lol, how does every think the opposing Dline gets worn down? by the Oline's blocking! wow, amazing concept!

and I love how everyone brings up the 90's Cowboys as part of their argument, but get it completely backwards, what happened burm? the '90s wasn't that far back in time? I'll give you a pass, 35 years must be alot to digest

Sure they were aggressive- but they ran the ball well in the first half as well. We do not seem to be able to do that at all- no matter which back gets the ball.

Go look up the stats. Emmitt got a lot of yards in the first half. We ran the ball well in the first half in the 90s. You are the one that needs to take a better look at cowboys history.

we don't have emmitt with moose in front of him now, big difference
