He is still playing hard and making plays and he got the brave award last nite.Have u noticed how innaccurate he is on long or intermediate routes lately.Seems the pressure or maybe he is gunshy from the finger? He seems nervous in the pocket. He did protect the ball last nite, but he missed witten wide open,a few were horribly overthrown,etc.... maybe its just me but I think maybe they should trim the routes some here n there. He used to win games for us now he seems to becoming more a busdriver and if that works then so be it i just notice this change, especially when pressured bad.Could it be Procter?IDK.

Simple. and Jimma nailed it on his pregame show.

Jimma says Romo is having to throw the ball too quick. What he left unsaid is that the O line is not doing a good job. Jimma said that when Romo has to throw quickly, mistakes happen.

Sounds right to me.

No, but it'd explain why his long balls were short.

Nate Newton has been on Talkin' Cowboys basically imploring the Cowboys to stop messing around and trade up or trade away players to get a blue chip lineman because Romo seems to be under duress very often. He also said since we've made the commitment to Romo as being the franchise, there really is no greater priority than to protect him, and I agree.

He also said what most of us have been saying, that we have shown no ability to groom a lineman, so we should stop rolling the dice.

And Nate may not know a lot about a lot of things, but I'd say the man probably knows a bit about linemen.

Romo tends to be a gunslinger and not overly protective of the football anyway, add pressure or a general mistrust in protection, and it becomes a major issue.

Yeah, you have to use your back to throw long balls.

But here's where coaching comes in. If he's having trouble with the long ball, why not shorten the routes?

Should have been using Witten and Roy on intermediate routes all day.

And did we run a single screen yesterday?

Jason Garrett is an idiot.

I really don't think his finger is healed yet. Even though he missed some throws against the Giants, he was still more accurate than in the Steelers & Ravens' games. Difference-the only game where the weather was warm was the Giants game. I've had several broken bones, and also had an injury where most of the tendons were torn in my left hand. I can tell you that cold weather stiffens the wounded area up for quite a while after the injury. Even when it seems that you are healed up.

If his pinky was stiff last night, it would keep him from completely following through on his passes. As a result, the ball tends to sail on you.

If our offensive line had almost any other QB back there, he would have been comatose by halftime. These guys should be ashamed of how much they get paid to whiff so often. Add in all the false starts & motion penalties, and they are more a hindrance than an asset. That must be addressed in the off season.

No, but we did run about 6 passes into the flat for a net yardage of -10 or some other such bs.

There is no way his hand is 100% - I bet his grip strength is probably no better than 80%.

You are right about his hand not being fully healed - that's probably about 3 months away still. I think this shows up mostly on cold days because the ball becomes more slippery which exposes the hand weakness.

JG really laid an egg last night with his game plan. It took him 3 full quarters before he realized that he could run the ball and hit TE/WRs over the middle against this defense.
