I have not bought anything Cowboys for years now. Not that I don't want to. But there is nothing I want.
I have plenty of hats and coffee mugs. I don't wear tee shirts, all that often, so do not need any of them. I gave away my jerseys to charity 7 years ago, after I sold my PSL's. Because I only wore them to game.
I have no desire to go to a game as of right now.

I am not doing this to send any kind of message to Jerry or the team. I do it as I said, there is nothing I want or need.

I will watch all the games. And most NFL games. But I have skipped a few to watch at home, but kept an eye on when I was out.
I will probably do the same for this Thursday as well.

If anyone wants to buy stuff, so be it. There will never be enough people to stop buying stuff or going to games to make an impact anyway.

I dropped the ticket and boycott Cowboys games. I did flip over Sunday night thinking it would be over or a couple minutes left & ended up watching the last 8 minutes or so.

I am fine with them losing and me rooting for other teams. Losing their core fans will eventually impact the organization.

I won’t buy anything related to the Cowboys. I don’t watch games anymore, either. I’ll follow on my yahoo app while I’m getting other stuff done. I haven’t watched a full game from start to finish in a long time, probably going back to the COVID year (2020) or maybe the year after. Now I don’t watch any live NFL football. I’m still interested in the league and keep up with highlights and stat crunching, but I’m becoming very apathetic overall. My apathy was completely centered around Dallas and the “Jerry problem” at first, but it’s definitely expanded to the league as a whole given the “QB salary problem” teams face league wide now. I hate mediocre to decent QBs, like Dak, becoming FAs and resetting the market. It makes cap management far harder than I feel it needs to be and really punishes teams with complete imbeciles, or just run of the mill NFL executives for that matter, running their front offices. You used to be able to build a championship roster around good QBs like Jim McMahon, Joe Theisman, Phil Simms, Mark Rypien, Eli Manning, and yes, Troy Aikman. Now, unless you get guys like this in their rookie window playing like veterans, it is incredibly hard to do that because they all cost more than they are worth in their second and third contracts and push your cap management success rate to something akin to walking a tight rope. I despise this.

Anyway, nowadays, especially with the expansion of the playoff, college football is FAR more exciting than the NFL for me. I don’t leave my couch most Saturdays. .

Exactly. I’ll buy the package this week at half price since I’ve only had to go to a bar once so far this year, and I am not at all of the thought that me not spending a couple of hundred bucks is going to force Jerry to quit lol….and I like watching football.

Strutting around New Jersey in Cowboys gear is a different story lol. I used to be proud, and I can promise that going away has much less to do with wins and losses than the buffoon that Jerry Jones is.

People fawning over him in public makes me want to vomit.

The locals should all sell their tickets for the Thanksgiving Game so it's like a home game for the Giants. Too bad it's the Giants so demand won't be high.
JJ doesn't care who's in the seat, but it may still be embarrassing for him to see 75% Giants fans on a nationally televised game.

I don’t think Jerry is embarrassed or affected by much. He will always have some lame spin or justification.

Never had a chance to get this off my chest but this topic gives the right setting for this confession.

I've never, and I mean this honestly, never purchased any, ANY Cowboys gear (been a fan since the 80's) in my Life. I did buy a Dallas Stars Jersey in the mid-90's, but that's it. The 1 or 2 Cowboys ball caps I had were gifts from my parents (and I didn't really wear them) and the one Cowboys Starter jacket (like Jimmy Johnson wore) that I wore for a Winter was one that I found abandoned at the Junior High Bleachers. I just plain didn't care to wear Professional Team stuff. I've always seen it as me becoming a walking billboard for some organization. Not only would I not get paid to carry their advertisement, I'd actually have to pay to acquire the billboard material.

But...I came *this* close to buying a Cowboy's Jersey this year after Game 1 because the player shares my Last name and had also made an impact in that game. But I procrastinated and by the time we got blasted by the Saints, I'd changed my mind. This team doesn't deserve my support. From the Front Office down to the players, they've proven to be a just a Country Club that the fans pay for. We're suckers.

They'll get nothing from me.

As fans, we always talk about the need for change and the reality that Jerry Jones will never change unless he feels a devaluation to his 10B asset, a slowing of its growth or some other metric that he monitors. That being the case, I pose the question as to what you have done over the past couple of years to spend less, watch less, impact, etc. as a fan....

For Me

- No new Jersey - Have not bought a new Jersey in over 5 years, kids are simply handing theirs down and I have only bought 1 new childs jersey in the last 2 seasons for my 10 year old

- No Sunday Ticket - Did not pay for Sunday ticket this year (first time ever)

- Not going to a local game - Not going to my local game this year (Charlotte vs Dallas) - I am not wasting money to watch two of the worst teams in the NFL

- Have bypassed watching 2 games so far this year on local tv

Reality is that its going to take an army of fans to finally have had enough, tune out, stop buying things and show enough disinterest to get the financial message across and even then it still might not be enough to change the approach.

What have you give up / changed / done?
I have pretty much done the same. I wil lnot spend a dime.

however, you, I many on this board are die hard fans. we deal with the emotional roller coaster of a team we support, we vent frustrations, etc. however we continue to follow the cowboys.

jerry doesn't pander to fans like us. he panders to the fringe and average fans, who care about the experience more than the wins and losses. do they get upset when we lose bad? heck yes....but jerry doesn't mind the 28-25 loss to ravens....because its an experience. being on the edge of your seat. thinking there is a chance. the excitement, etc......and then they go "oh well" we came close. maybe next time.... and those fans flock the stadium, buy the jerseys and create value for Cowboys.

so this is going to be the way it it. Jerry will sign a couple of semi-big name FAs this offseason, because he hears it on the radio and so these fans....he has to pander to them. he will sign a big name coach. he will create hope yet again, but not put a championship team together. he will get us back to the winning team perhaps...or losing with respect as he calls it, a team will not succeed in post season. and the circus continues.

Let's see, my first live Cowboy game was Oct 3rd 1966. My dad took me to see the game in Atlanta Ga, it was the first year for the Falcons and we were living in Ga at the time. My last live game was Dec 26 2004 where we played the Commanders at home. I traveled to many Dallas games between those years. For much of my adult life I lived on the East coast so the Commanders, Philly, and the Giants plus one home game was pretty much my requirement every season in the 80's and 90's.

Fast forward to today I have long since retired and have been living in Florida for years. I still enjoy football and attend at least one Tampa game a year. It was great watching Brady play and a total blast winning the Superbowl especially in your own home stadium. Something I know I will never get to experience as a Cowboy fan ever again

So yeah I still keep up with Dallas and what's going on with the team, but no I do not call myself a diehard fan anymore. I'm sure I will never watch Dallas play live again and I was never one to buy or wear any gear anyway

His spin is, even if negative press. They are still talking about the Cowboys.

Cowboys fans talk about not going to games or not buying merchandise. They are still talking about them. And he knows for every fans that stops buying merchandise, there will be another fan coming along that will.

Nothing will change. Look at all the NFL teams that have been bottom dwellers for years. Their seats are still pretty well filled.
All teams are filled with season tickets holders, that are probably 75% of the seats. They already have their money no matter hat fan of what team is sitting there.

Now if they don't sell much team merchandise at the stadium because most fans are from the other team. That is minuscule loss of sales.

What it will take is for a mass of the season tickets holders is not to pay for the tickets or PSL's. But they are too vested in them to give up that investment, which is a poor investment. And if the financed them, then it will go against their credit, and would Jerry sue them for non payment. But this may apply to all teams.
At the time they charged 8% interest.

I got lucky to sell mine for break even.

I have never bought gear but my family has since I was a huge fan. Told them to stop buying me any Cowboys gear but Rangers, Stars, Mavs gear is fine.
I no longer wear the Cowboys gear I have.
Turn games off quick and this week, I transitioned to not even watching. I didn't watch one second of the SNF game and didn't care at all about the result. I only checked the stats for fantasy football reasons (my opponent had Purdy). My fiance and I enjoyed a nice dinner and movie Sunday night.

I no longer plan Sundays around Cowboys games. My caring meter has dwindled to almost nothing. The losing is one thing, been used to this. Three straight 5-11 seasons. Countless years of no playoffs. It's the blatant mismanagement of the roster from the Jones family because their ego is too big to let a real GM handle those duties. Dak's team took Jerry to the cleaners and he's looking like a huge fool because of it.Jerry threatening to fire the Fan hosts because they asked him some tough questions. That is where the tide turned even more for me. Jerry knows all the roster mismanagement is coming home to roost now and he can no longer spin this team as positive. Diggs then got his feelings hurt because someone called him out. Taking after Grandpa Jerry.

And this group of players has to be the most fragile, weakest I have ever seen. Mentally and physically. There is absolutely no fight at all. Started with the GB playoff game. We have a lame duck coaching staff who has no idea how to adjust and gameplan.

Kudos to all of those who are still mentally invested in this team but as I've gotten older and sports in general is less important to me (I still watch but don't let it consume me), I pick and choose what to spend my time/energy on. And the Cowboys give me zero ROI.

All of the above, till people realize that mainly all Jerry and Stephen Jones care about is profits, and gratitude from big money people. Case in point, years ago Jimmy Johnson was having a meeting with the players after a huge win, owner Jerry Jones brought in the prince of Saudi Arabia, Jerry used these meetings and tours from fans to further his other business enterprises. Note, that our tight end that went to Houston Texans said the culture is all about football. Tony Pollard just said the same thing. Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones just want popularity, they won't spend money till they have to. Remember Jerry Jones could have signed ceedee cheaper in April, same for Dak. Then, we could have signed the big back RB from Tennessee, WAKE UP PEOPLE, STOP SPENDING MONEY ON JERRY, AND WATCHING COWBOYS AND JERRY JONES SHOWS

You’re 100% right.

The profits for all NFL owners are essentially guaranteed. The TV deals alone ensure that. The idea of ever hitting him in the wallet isn’t realistic or even possible. One can choose to feel better by not personally supporting it, but Jerry deciding to quit because people stopped buying hats isn’t going to happen.

Even if the tickets sales drop he would barely feel it.

I still watch most of the games, but I will not waste money to attend the games or buy any merchandise, or even visit the official website.

I sold my PSLs, I have not spent anything on merch this offseason, I cancelled our traditional Thanksgiving tradition UFN. I careless about missing parts of the game(a first). I am no longer optimistic and as diehard as I was. All of this will continue until Jerry dies or sells the team.

Had a conversation with one of my boys from college I ran into just before the season started. I was beyond shocked when he told me he was tapping out. He's put all gear in the attic, is not taking his annual road trip, and stated he was just going to watch football as a fan of the sport this year. This is from one of the most ardent Boys fans I know. He just said "I can't do it anymore." I know my org is horrible, but I was shocked that he was driven to that point. I don't blame you guys for feeling this way. It's been tough to support my brother and my friends who are fans all of these years.
