What if Dak is the one who is holding up the extension or trade?

You are seriously OVERESTIMATING Dak's talent grade.
Do you think there will be a bidding war for his services after all you've witnessed in 8 seasons of beating up dog teams and him folding like a cheap tent vs real teams??
Amazing simply amazing.........................:omg:
I think teams make desperate bids to be relevant or make big news. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that someone will overpay for Dak.

If lv is going to trade for him they'd work a deal out. No one is giving up a rumored 4 picks for a one year rental they can't franchise. In that case dak is getting his deal without risk of getting injured this year. Win win imo
A huge win for Dallas. Getting rid of the ridiculous contract and picks to rebuild the team that has hit it's ceiling with Dak.

Las Vegas could not sell anymore tickets to their games. They pack that stadium even if the team stinks. They certainly have no need to make “desperate bids to be relevant”. They play in a popular venue in a popular city to visit. Their season ticket holders that paid insane prices for their tickets are willing to put them on StubHub to offset the expense. Raiders are going to slowly build through the draft now, adding depth players, like Minshew, in a financially prudent manner. This is silly rumor like a million others that will start between now and the draft.

Given that they are picking at #13, they are far enough away to not be able to pick a QB. Going to depend of if they feel Dak Prescott provides them something more than what Minshew can give them or anyone they draft can.

LOL.. “all pro”…. To start the season, he couldn’t even find the red zone and the end the season he threw 5 picks in 5 games and 2 of them in the biggest game of his career.

Claiming he would be the biggest free agent ever is insanity, especially since he’s 2-5 in the play-offs..

Nah buddy, your Dak fandom is making you blind.. Kurt Warner was a free agent.. Drew Brees.. Deion Sanders.. Reggie White
Peyton Manning was a free agent…

If you mean most over-rated free agent ever, I’d agree with you.. hell, he’s in the running for most over-rated player ever..
Watson was no better than dak, and he got a huge deal plus Cleveland had to give up a bunch of picks.
He hadnt played in a year or 2 and had serious off field issues.

Dak would have some teams wanting him as there would be no draft picks to give up if he is a FA.
He has had no time off, he should play this season and had a great season 3 years in a row, 3 12 -5's.

Watson was no better than dak in the playoffs.

Dak could get a bigger deal than watson.

This close I would assume Dak is wanting to hit free agency. The cowboys are doing nothing to add talent around him, why would he not look for the biggest pay day?

I think this marriage is headed for divorce and I don’t see any motivation from either side to try and fix it.
He had talent all around him and did nothing with it, and his contract precludes adding much talent around him and he wants MORE money. He's not worth it for the product HE delivers.

Raiders don’t have the cap space to cover Prescott’s $29 million for the 2024 season. They signed Minshew as a bridge quarterback. If they were considering acquiring a vet QB, why would they sign Minshew in the first place. The Las Vegas Raiders are not trading for Dak Prescott.

Stephen came out and said he will not reach out to Dak's agent untill training camp.
And he never lies?? man get real you cant trust either of the jones boys to tell the truth or be clear.

If dak and his agent are not talking to them in any way why would they keep reaching out??

Maybe france told them to get back to us in july around TC time?

Well being a total FA is way better for dak or any qb , than being traded.
Some teams may want dak, but dont want to give up draft picks.

Cleveland and denver were very stupid with picks they gave up to get wilson and watson. Those 2 trades were the dumbest trades ever!
Denver already unloaded wilson, but have some dead money, and they dont get those picks back!

If the jones boys had acted as soon as season was over, they might have found a team that dak would agree to go to.
But now it is too late. Teams like atlanta already signed cousins so they are not in the market for a gb now.

Jones boys have created a mess, if they are responsible for no extension.
If it is dak, then they have reacted poorly to the situation.

He also had bad coaches, imo. Coaching matters.

Of course he lies. But on this, this is how they typically operate. They really don't reach out to hardly any one this time of year. For anyone who's followed the cowboys a few years you'd easily see they like to wait. There is reported division in the front office and there could be division between Jerry and Stephen in regards to what they are comfortable offering Dak. Daks last contract came last minute, this one may be no different..

People look at the Watson trade as one of the dumbest in history. Nobody is repeating that, especially for Dak and when Flacco came off the bench over 100 years old and still get that team to the playoffs.

And Watson before he was traded had a much better 4th quarter performance than Dak did. If Dak played in the Texans, he’d probably be a back up or out of the league by now.

Some quotes I found:

"I'm definitely confident," Prescott recently said when asked about a potential contract extension. “It helps the team, and it's important for the numbers … It's a process, and both sides understand that. Everything is great. It’ll happen.”

That, as it happens, is a more optimistic answer from Prescott than the one that Jerry offered while at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"We don't need to, but we can if everybody wants to solve it," Jones said about extending Prescott. "You can get in and get on the same page and see if you can come to an agreement. If you can't, what we have in place works."

In this theorized scenario, it "works'' only in limited ways. Leave Dak's cap hit alone and 2024 roster-building is hamstrung and the locker room might be in lame-duck ruins ... but 2025 benefits.

The Cowboys are managing Dak in their own business-like manner. Prescott has the right to do the same. After a 2023 season where Prescott finished as the runner-up for the league's MVP award while throwing for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine interceptions? Do that again while playing out his final year in and he will become the highest-paid free agent of all-time.

if everybody wants to solve it,.......This imply's dak needs to go along with jones boys, and possibly at least talk to them

Dak needs to go but it is my belief that Jones will sign him and pay him market setting rates.. I just can't see this nightmare ever ending.

Only positive is that our roster looks so trash this year that Dak is about to find out how other QBs have to survive.. no way he is getting 6 seconds of clean pocket to work with and a run game to draw attention.

I don't like it but there is no way that Dak ever leaves this team until he is either injured or turns 55 and hits retirement age (in which, Jerry will probably still pay him to play out there with a zimmer frame). Dak is going to make a whole lot more money and we, the fans, are going to have to endure his interceptions, poor pocket presence, bad footwork, terrible defensive reads, poor audible and woeful accuracy for many more frustrating years to come. Jerry made it clear "we will go as far as Dak takes us" and apparently that is a humiliating first round exit from the playoffs every second year.

Only way things change if enough fans wake up and stop watching. Only when it hits Jerry's bottom line will he even think about changing and I don't see enough fans who are willing to walk out on this team.

New GM Tom Telesco + new HC Antonio Pierce = new Raiders regime.
They recently signed (March 14th) Gardner Minshew to compete with now 2nd -year QB Aiden O'Connell to be the 2024 QB1, with possibly the winner being the bridge QB to a drafted rookie ----

a) LV pondering whether to trade up from the 13 spot to nab Jayden Daniels (or Drake Maye)
b) staying put at 13 and drafting Michael Penix Jr. (chances are he won't be on the board in when the Raiders pick at no. 44 overall).

Bottom line...Dak Prescott is not in the mix to be the next QB in Las Vegas.

I dont think anyone has considered this?
What if he wants to hit FA ? He is close, and all he has to do is turn down any dallas offer, and wait less than 1 year.

March 25 he would be a FA and can negotiate with any team he wants, and pick the offer he likes best.
Could be the cowboys, or any other team.

Any team that wants him will have to pay big, but no draft picks needed like in a trade.

Cleveland, Denver, both gave up numerous picks for QB's and also payed them big, so Dak as a FA would be much
better than trading for a QB.

Dallas fans have turned on dak, so maybe he wants to say goodbye to them?

I think Dak would be smart to do this, play out this season,be careful to not get hurt, then pick a new team or cowboys and get a huge deal.
Jones boys could not do anything about it if he decided to do this.

I think this could be whats happening and jones boys dont want people to know dak has turned them down and wont talk to them lol.

He is holding up the extension, it’s been in the news, he doesn’t want to take what the Cowboys are offering. Of course, from his point of view, the Cowboys are the the one holding it up. LOL

I don’t think he’s holding up any trade though because I feel like it would’ve leaked by now.
