Technically, Bum Bright's Dallas Cowboys 'tanked' in 1988. The 3-13 season supplied the number one overall pick to new franchise owner Jerry Jones on a silver platter.

Perhaps Bright would pick a quarterback with a high first round pick in the 2024 NFL draft but that does not mean Jones would. The current owner/GM/president is a whole different cat. Doing the expected is not what he is known for.

I'd like to see Lance only cuz I want to see him spin it, but they would go with Rush until he got himself hurt while playing statue in the pocket.

Season's over regardless of either option..

Bet he would,,, bet he would.
And Willie shows up...

Well, now it's all going to pot
Whether we like it or not
The best I can tell
The world's gone to hell
And we're sure gonna miss it a lot
All of the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just couldn't hit the spot
I got a hundred dollar bill, friend
You keep your pills
'Cause it's all going to pot

That cackle-babble-head-in-a-box
Must think I'm dumb as a rock
Readin' me the news
While I'm kickin' off my shoes
And it's scarin' me outta my socks
That Red Headed Stranger I'm not
But buddy, let me tell you what
If you ask ol' Will, he'll say here's the deal
Friends, it's all goin' to pot

Well, it's all going to pot
Whether we like it or not
Best I can tell
The world's gone to hell
And we're all gonna miss it a lot
All the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just couldn't hit the spot
I got a hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friendIt's all goin' to pot

Well, I thought I had found me a girl
Sweetest little thing in the world
But all my jokes went up in smoke
When I caught her makin' eyes at Merle
He said, a sweet little honey
With her eye on your money
Is gonna take every penny you got
I said she's never gonna get it
'Cause I've already spent it
Merle, it's all goin' to pot

It's all going to pot
Whether we like it or not
The best I can tell
The world's gone to hell
And we're all gonna miss it a lot
All the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just couldn't hit the spot
Got a hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
It's all going to pot

I got a hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
'Cause it's all goin' to pot

Then you get rid of all three, draft Caleb Williams and sign Grier as his backup.

Interesting in that both Dallas and Green Bay were 3-12 entering the final week of the 1988 season. Dallas lost to the Eagles while the Packers upset the Cardinals, thus clinching the number one overall pick for the Cowboys.

What would have happened to NFL history if Green Bay also lost? Would Aikman have been a Packer or would they have gone with Tony Mandarich anyway? Would Dallas have gone with Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, or Derrick Thomas at number 2??

All these scenarios boggles the mind.

You said this last year in our first game?

You are the one that called for us to tank the season? What da...

You owe Cooper an apology.
What are you talking about? Dak was not lost for the season last year.

I thought this was a thread about losing the starting QB for the season
