I certainly hope Romo has a very successful career. BUT a projected career cannot hinge on the accomplishments attained in less than a full regular season. Can it?
One successful season in the NFL is a much better indicator of future success in the NFL than college careers, yes. You can't possibly disagree. Can you?

I can cautiously disagree until Romo proves otherwise. Time is on his side. And ours.

"If"?

"Becomes"?

The Oakland Raiders would have to make this 'trade' within the next month. If you were the general manager of the Raiders, would YOU make such a trade? Just asking.

[edit]Sorry. You said, "...the 1st pick in this draft". Forget it.

I don't know that Al would make that deal.. Now if the Lions held the #1 pick then it might be possible. Millen is that terrible.

This is just a hypothetical question. Slow day with little football news.

then i know i'm pretty much done with a 1/5th of wild turkey 101 and my maddenmania is in full swing.

It's still amazes me that Millen selected wide receivers in the first round for three consecutive drafts.

Confess. The Wild Turkey made you omit Roy Williams. :)

sorry - contact lens not in left eye so i miss things at times. only ONE has panned out, so yes, that would be roy williams. :)

and i'm all out of wild turkey - damn it. i quit drinking for around 8 months after 5+ years of total annihalation on my liver and now i just drink on the weekends.

of all strange things, i know another "alkie" who actually goes to AA meetings. yet, him and others going to the meetings still go out and get drunk on a regular basis. totally blew my mind on the concept of AA, but oh well. to each their own.

I wouldn't be surprised if they select Johnson or want to but don't because of the fallout it would cause from those three consecutive drafts.

Good lord no. Is there a "Ridiculous Trade Zone?"

This just popped in my head when I read the thread:

"No, no no. Light speed is to slow. We're going to have to go straight to...Ludicrous speed."

no

Romo is our franchise QB, I don't see one in this draft, and it's not hard to find a franchise RB

I know we could draft Calvin Johnson w/ the pick, or trade down a couple of spots, and get him and more, but WRs don't win championships

btw, who's going to throw to him, or if we draft Joe Thomas, who's he protecting?

Would you trade Ware, Romo, Adams and Jones for the top 4 picks in the draft?

If so you could draft

1. Quinn or Russell to take over for Romo
2. Joe Thomas to take over at left tackle
3. Peterson to take over for Jones
4. Calvin Johnson

You just wouldn't have a replacement for Ware. :p:

Not a bad idea. But I dont really like the sound of it because Romo brings alot to the table. Julius, Bradie, and 1st round yeah I would go for that.
