What is at stake with Zeke negotiations

It kinda bothers me how personally people are taking this Zeke holdout. A fan on another forum I'm on was discussing the Colts fans booing Luck's retirement, and described this phenomenon perfectly: "I'm a fan of the team, not the players. I want my team to win, win, win, and if you hurt my team's chance at winning, then screw you!"

This is business, guys. You guys don't care if Zeke gets paid, but Zeke cares if Zeke gets paid. He's using the leverage he has to bargain for a new deal and is working within the confines of his contract (people who say "he's violating his contract! - he is working 100% within the confines of his contract. And people here are saying we should insult his mother in response. SMDH.

i said curse at the stupid agent's mother and wife, not zeke who is not even married.

it is a business, and the best move is to force the agent into a confrontation that dooms the negotiation as long as he is still the agent.

that sets the precedence for all the future negotiations.

Curse at him? Involve his wife?

That's where I had to stop. What kinda bologna is this

the agent, not zeke.
it is a simple bullying technique that makes the other side lose it.
then zeke would have no choice but to get rid of the agent.
otherwise, he is stuck in limbo.
be the bully.

Yeah, then Zeke gets a new agent, this new agent advises him to continue his holdout, and you've poisoned the well for the next decade of contract negotiations.

zeke gets a new agent, and the new agent knows what can happen.
next decade of negotiations?
with whom?
other agents would simply know that the cowboys front office are a bunch of hard *** that will still pay zeke a top 2 salary for a rb 2 years before contract is done.
that is pretty generous, but just dont push them too far.

zeke will come crawling back game 11 in the likely worst case scenario.
the team has not taken a win when you can approach.
look at 2017-2018 when they signed nobody worth signing.

they are simply preying on an old man that is jerry
they think he will break
if they break, the cap plan will explode.
He will sign this week

i really dont care.

i rather zeke sit out for a few weeks.
let dak grow without the crutch - call it dak's audition for a big big contract.
if dak does not have it, it is time to find out.
if dak does great, then takes away more of zeke's leverage.
if dak does badly, then dak will be cheaper if we even want him.

exactly get a vet rb in here by trade.
they should have done that and further eliminate any leverage zeke has.
i would even trade a third round pick for a proven back who is decent.

Zeke is special but there are a ton of good RBs that can turn into great under this online. I'm not saying get a bum but decent quality back and we will win.

exactly.
and i think they need to find out what dak can do by himself without zeke
i actually prefer if zeke holds out.
just get a decent proven rb by trade now!
if dak does great without zeke, zeke's leverage has gone to essentially zero.
if dak does badly, then dak has just gotten cheaper assuming we even want him back.
may as well give dak's audition

F that. Just win baby!!!!! This isn't preseason. If people haven't seen enough of Dak in three years, then they are the Idiots.

Not only is it a few million per year.
Not only is it a huge cap hit if he gets suspended or banned.
It is also all the negotiations to follow.
If the Jones allow Zeke to force the highest pay for a RB 2 years before his contract is up, what will Dak, Cooper, LVE, BJones, Chido, Woods do?
Will everyone start holding out 2 years before their contract is done?
That means Chido and Woods could hold out after the season and LVE the season after that?

If I were Stephen, I would make an example of Zeke's agent.
Make it totally personal.
Curse at him, degrade him, talk about his wife and his mother, do whatever it takes to make Zeke realize that a deal cannot be done as long as he has the same agent.
Force the agent to get fired or else Zekes' career is in limbo.
Set the precedent.
So all other agents know what can happen.

Simply make this statement:
we made Zeke an offer to be the top 2 paid rb.
he did not take it.
that is the last offer.
we are not trading him.
he can play for the cowboys or not at all.
have a nice day.
So in turn Zeke comes in goes through the motions and collects his money and fumbles and misses blocks and plays like crap intentionally until he either get released or just goes through the motions and gets benched but still makes millions. Two can play that spite game. The RB position is getting screwed and is way off balance and Zeke just wants what is fair.

if dak is not good enough, then this team is not going anywhere.

this is the first time dak under the new offense system that should be less predictable.
and a more open offense.

zeke being around make it a run first to set up the pass offense.
i think it is time for a pass first to set up the run offense.
that is if we want to win the superbowl and not being an also-ran

if zeke does that, he is killing his own value.

fairness? thought it is only a business???

and it is not just about zeke, but about all the negotiations to come.

So you still haven't seen enough after 50 games? Well, that explains a lot.

We just need to get Jerry and Zeke in the same room together for about 30 minutes to seal the deal. Lol

if u say dak is no good, then having zeke is moot.
i will give the new offense a chance to thrive, and we will get a better read without zeke.

But those other players will get fair market when the time comes. The RB position is getting screwed.
