What is Romo's record against Eli?

Giants 2007 defense ranked 25th (Yards) and 17th (Points)
Giants 2011 defense ranked 7th (Yards) and 25th (Points)

Neither of those Giants defenses were particularly great. Both those defenses both caught fire in the post-season just like Manning caught fire (15 TDs vs 2 Interceptions in those two post-seasons).

Nothing in Romo's play back in 2007 or 2011 suggests he was capable of a 15 TD / 2 INT playoff run.

What has you convinced Romo would have magically performed better playing for the Giants those two post-seasons that Manning did other than homerism?
Man please,

Eli has yet to win a playoff game when his defense has given up over 20 POINTS.

Tony's defenses have given up at least 20 points in all but 1 of his 6 games.

Tony Romo has a record of
51-11 In his career When his defenses have have given up 20 or less points

Eli has thrown for 3 Tds and 7 Ints in his playoff losses

Tony has thrown for 4 Tds and 2 Ints in his playoff losses

And BTW, outside of 2014, Romo's 2 best seasons in his career were in 2007 and 2011...

Here is what I see.

Eli threw 2 interceptions total in 8 playoff/SB games those two seasons. That's 0.25 interceptions per game.

Romo threw 29 interceptions total in those two regular seasons -- almost 1 per game. He also threw 1 in the one playoff game he played in.

Post season is all about limiting mistakes. I am not as convinced as you that Romo could have lowered his interception rate simply by playing for the Giants. Earlier in Romo's career, he was apt to play a bit wild, as his 19 interceptions in 2007 are indicative of.

Playoffs are about limiting mistakes but when your defense isn't getting stops you are forced to make some riskier throws.

Romo could've done the Big Ben Roethlisberger style of football and win 16-14 had he had a defense that would allow him to play like that but we didn't have that.

We had no defense, no coach, and offensive players that haven't shown up big either in big games (again I blame coaches for some of that).

Eeeeewww... I wish I would've known this a few days ago.

Hasn't won a game when his team has gave up more then 20 points....

That info would've just ended the argument completely.

We're not being "homers," Robbie, we're being realistic.

There's a gray area somewhere in your black-and-white view. With all due respect, brother.

And I'd hardly call Eli "a lock," as an aside.

Eli's not a lock but he has a better chance than Tony. Not only because he has 2 SB rings but because he's a Giant and a Manning. I think Plunkett deserves to get in before he does though. He has 2 SB rings and has been waiting forever.

You think Eli wins Super Bowls in Dallas? Really?
Yeah, I think it is possible he could sure. I think he was a better QB in the playoffs than Tony was. Tony never did anything overly special in the playoffs, but Eli sure did. 2 time super bowl MVP.

And based on this logic, Dolphin fans would have taken Doug Williams over Marino, right? ;)

Are you saying Romo was as good as Marino? Eli is a 2 time super bowl MVP. He didn't do it once, he did it twice. He was a 1st round draft pick and he lived up to it. He will be going to the hall of fame. Romo never did squat in the playoffs. When it mattered most, Romo never did anything special. Sorry.

Of course he couldve.

But its not like he turned it over in the playoffs.
His 4/1 ratio is outstanding.
And once he had the line and run game, he led the league in playoff QB rating in 2014.

Yea, I'm so crazy to want a 2 time super bowl mvp qb over Tony.

You can make that argument but most people know the actual score. He doesn't sniff a MVP without crazy luck like people dropping passes and catching passes on top of their head....who was that guy anyway. I realize luck is part of the game but Eli is inconsistent and not nearly as skilled as Romo. Send them both back in time and see how many GMs pick Tony vs Eli. You're condensing an entire argument on how good a QB is based on two dumb azz luck games surrounded by a good defense. Look at everything to decide.

Go back and watch the play. Luck can't even happen if Eli doesn't throw the ball. He had like 5 or 6 guys grabbing on him and he still got it off.
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity". You are also ignoring the fact that he played outstanding in the playoffs on the way to the super bowl as well. No, not one playoff run.. 2 playoff runs.

Completely disagree. Eli has accomplished more when it counted. Romo was a better regular season QB but for all the marbles, give me Eli all day.

That is an ignorant comment. I have watched both of their entire careers. What Eli accomplished throughout the playoffs those years AND super bowl(s) on the biggest stage vs Tom Brad is what I'm basing my opinion on. You can keep talking about luck all you want but Eli has achieved more than Romo and for that he will be in the hall of fame.

Man, when Manning makes it into the Hall of Fame and Romo is still out in the cold, there are going to be some hopping mad people around here.

It doesn't matter. You won't win an argument with Giant fans. Tony was the better QB but Eli won when it counted and that's all that matters. Eli has a better shot at the HOF because of those 2 SBs.

Yay I have found the gem of a post ....time to exit the thread ( to any giants fans lurking 5/4 and 62/46 :p)
