Marcus Spears is BEAST, I was very surprised he didn't break the top 10 of the draft. I thought he was the best Defensive lineman comming out of the entire draft.

What made you think that? Did you get to see a lot of him at LSU? What did you like about him? I don't remember him being nearly as he is now, but I do remember him making a lot of plays.

So, according to your "logic".......people from states like Rhode Island, Wyoming, Oklahoma, North and South Dakota, Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, etc...etc...etc... can't have favorite NFL teams? I mean, there are no NFL teams in those states, so they can't root for a team?

.

Or Montana. Go Cowboys.

Back on topic, Spears would be a beast at DT, like Kevin Williams in Minnesota.

I dont think I want to sacrifice his play making ability by putting him at DT. He seems like the perfect 3-4 DE and Id love to have a DL of Spears, Ferguson, and Canty next year. Unless we pick up a true NT in the draft (Ngata?) or choose killer DE (Kiwanuka?) and then i could understand moving spears inside.

What do you care about what we did with our picks? Our team is not an old team. We are not having a firesale next year, and the salary cap is not an issue.

Come correct or don't come at all.
Actually, you guys are the fourth oldest team in the league by average age.

Draft analysis

Mostly highlights, he started out as a talanted TE in College.

He was one of the biggest with size and strength drafted at DE, couple that with the quickness for the second level. Reminds me of a big DE in the Bruce Smith or Reggie White mold. Frankly, I was very surprised and delighted he didn't go top 10 because to tell you the absolute truth I thought he had the talant to go top 5. When he was there at #20 I was shocked, one of my early draft mocks had Spears going to us at 11 and Ware going to us at #20. Not sure why Spears slid in the draft and it puzzled many draft gurus. When Dallas ended up with both of them it was pretty much the most unbelievabely good draft in a very long long time.

Spears to me and alot of other people, was the steal of the draft in the first 20 picks and always has been.

Spears has some initial quickness but not great upfield burst. That's why he's probably a better as a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 end than he is a 4-3 end. Canty is sorta the same way really. As 4-3 DT's they are both anomalies and throw-backs to an older time of professional football where DT's were taller and quicker (meaning a little lighter) than they are now. I honestly believe we're starting to see some of that type of player already. The "sumo" type of DT (from a 4-3 perspective) has probably started to run its course.

Uh sorry but he did win a playoff game.

Come with facts. Come correct or don't come.
That was the season he just joined, where he did almost nothing to the team at all. SInce than he has made them more inept year after year. Quit trying to spin things, Snyder has done nothing other than being a liability for your team.

OK I will spell this out for you guys.

Jerry has been an owner longer.

Jerry got the benefit of an idiotic trade to get a boat load of draft picks.

Jerry go lucky and got 3 hof'ers at 3 key positions.

Now if you are honest with yourselves...Jerry and Danny are very much alike based on recent history.

Don't tell me the boys won the superbowls BECAUSE of Jerry. You don't really believe that do you??????????

And what was the state of the Commanders prior to snyder?

If you understood Skins history...Cooke died and the skins estate left us unable to resign Trent Green who was proving to be a stud. Then Casserly the idiot traded our future for Brad SUCKS Johnson.

Don't pretend to know what Snyder walked into......

Jerry got lucky:rolleyes:, you are so ignorant.

Jerry saw the oppurtunity to trade a great RB for all of those picks, he didn't get lucky. He could have easily kept Walker, and he had to choose who to take with those picks. With it he helped build one of the greatest olines in the nfl.

It doesn't matter how long Jerry has been an owner, he had much more success than Snyder, and Snyder inherited a playoff team. Jerry got great talents like Novacheck, Deion and Haley that helped put our team over the top. Jerry overrall ran his team the way it was supposed to be run, Snyder has had to have continually cut and trade good players because of his stupid decisions.

Trent Green was mediocre in Washington. Brad Johnson was better when he left your team as well. The fact is when snyder just got the team, he did nothing and they went to the playoffs. I think you know the story since then.

Last I saw the boys have been a laughing stock of personnell decisions. Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson, and a hodge podge of other qb's. I don't know where you come off with Jerry being this great GM.

Jimmy Johnson helped your boy Jerry out. But go ahead and credit it to the owner. Your homer is coming out WAY too much.

Snyder didn't inherit a playoff team. He inherited a team who LUCKED into the playoffs with a ONE time pro bowl performance by Michael Westbrook and Albert Connell. They were our receivers, the never performed well prior to that year OR after that year.

He inherited a poorly run team with a bad coach and bad GM.

Get your facts straight.

Stop reading len pasquerrelli.

First Trent Green was basically a rookie. We groomed him, and he was playing like an NFL starter. Had we kept green we would have been a better franchise.
He would have been the trent green he is today. What are you talking about???? Thats like saying Aikman wasn't good in Dallas his first year or two.

And no Brad Johnson had 1 great year in washington, and he was mediocre when tampa won the superbowl.

He is not that old and not a starting qb because he is and has always been mediocre except in the skins playoff year.

BEcause of what he did earlier. He has recently bought into the "no 1st rd qbs" theory, hopefully he will snap out of it soon.
Jimmy Johnson helped your boy Jerry out. But go ahead and credit it to the owner. Your homer is coming out WAY too much.
You think I don't know this? Jimmy did help with personell, but JJ had to pull the trigger which he did. I don't say Jerry is a great owner/gm, he is just much better than snyder.

SO?
He inherited a poorly run team with a bad coach and bad GM.
And what has he done to change that? Nothing, first Marty, then Spurrier, now Gibbs, who seems lost, needing Gregg William's defense to bail him out.
Get your facts straight.
Stop spinning yours
