I get so tired of hearing this from non Commanders fans.
Who will we lose? All the high priced free agents get cut year after year, so we have been taking our cap hits.
We have youth on the oline, dline, secondary, reciever, rb, etc, etc.
Our free agents are going and going. there will be no purge. And the new agreement with the players union just leaves it as a free for all.
What do the Cowboys have? Old QB, Old Receivers, Old O-Line.
So where is your logic?
Cowboys at best are in the same boat.
Good points all........But I disagree about the youth on your DL, Secondary, and WR.
The ages on your starting DL are as follows: Wynn--31, Salave'a 30, Griffin 28 (29 in Dec), Daniels 32....Noble is 31 (and keeps getting dinged). With the exception of Griffin (who is a fine player), you have no talented youth on your DL.
Compare it with our DL: Glover and Fergie are 31, and Ellis is 30. But Canty is 23, Spears is 22, Ware is 22, Ratliff and Johnson are both under 25. We have a near perfect blend of youth and experience.
Sean Taylor is a great safety....maybe even better than Roy....and he's only 22. But Harris and Springs are 31 and 30. Rogers is an excellent young CB, so you do have 2/4 of a fine secondary.
Compare it to our secondary: Roy is 25, Newman is 27, Henry is 29, and Beriualt is 24.
Moss is 26, but Patten is 31, and Thrash is 30. Now, I don't know how much hope your putting in Jacobs....he's young, but I have yet to see him make an impact. Keyshawn is 33 and Glenn is 31.....Crayton is 26 and Price is 29. It's a close call here.....
OK, I'll say you beat us in the youth department at WR, OL, and QB.....I say QB, because we really haven't found "our guy" yet. At least you have Campbell.
So we do have holes to fill. Both teams.....but we will have plenty of draft picks to do this with. You all don't.
I would say, we're in better shape than you all right now.......but we'll see.
