Washington has a QB cap hit of 9.4 million per season.

Dallas is in a different situation .

This, meaning that they have lots of cap room to get better players around the QB and the defense .

Washington's average draft position since 2018 is 11.9, pretty much the 12th.

The Cowboys average is 21.2. Over a period of seven drafts, that has to represent a huge difference in talent.

Blimey! In me naive days --- oh, maybe December 2023 --- I knew the future was always bright with a reliable 2 wins against Washington and other wins from weak sisters in 2024.

Today, unruly men, I see The Commanders demolishing an albeit weak Carolina 40-7.
As evidenced by today's game, there is some stirring among the new blood in the NFL.
Seattle, Vikings, Lions, Packers, Bucs. Aggressive in FA, the draft and on the field.

Good teams develop and mature, succeed then decline. Look at Washington. The Cowboys, it seems, rarely rebuild as it did in 1990. The Cowboys just reload with flashy, costly players. And depth? The Lord will provide. WHAT DID WE THINK WOULD HAPPEN WITH SEQUEL BACK? ... Ahem, composure.

I feel we as fans and the team have entered a dull, stagnant era of below-average NFL football. It would definitely give us a better draft pick than 12-5 seasons, but being Raiders-esque would be an undying embarrassment.

Back to the Commanders. good lads.
Jayden Daniels went out early in the game against the Panthers and Marcus Mariota (depth, again) stepped in and supercharged Washington with 18-23 205 yards 2 TDs.

Beware the Commanders, formally known as The Commodes.

You’ve been waiting for them to be good for what seems to feel like an eternity. Glad your guys have finally fingered some things out. You and coogi must be besides yourselves.

It was a shame to lose DQ...and you have to wonder how much his vision for the defense was hampered by Jerry's need to always be the smartest guy in the room.

The Cowboys have to be among the least "proactive" teams in the NFL. Operating under a philosophy of perennially "hanging around the rim" will inevitable result in you hanging around the toilet bowl.

We have an owner that only thinks about the "glory-hole" rim and his booze... that's about it. We remain screwed....

Zimmer is a downgrade over DQ. We downgraded everywhere. Would’ve preferred Rex Ryan, but he turned down the job because of money. Zimmer was probably one of the few experienced DC’s that would take the job under a lame duck head coach. The entire staff will be gone after this season.

Dinosaur re-tread. I was actually hopeful but we all have to remember that re-treads are ALWAYS bad. It never works out. Jerry loves comfort. He'd bring back Garrett if he could...

I don’t think he had many choices other than Zimmer. Rex Ryan said he was offered the job, but turned it down because of money. This was Zimmer‘s only shot to get back into the NFL and he probably saw an opportunity to possibly become the Cowboys next HC if McCarthy is fired. It would be typical of Jerry to promote him to head coach. He did it with Campo and he did it with Jason Garrett. However, the way the defense looks, I can’t see any chance that he would go with Zimmer as the next head coach. No way is that going to excite the fan base and bring any hope and Jerry knows it.

Hard to have choices when your GM only takes inbound phone calls. Who even knows if he can hear the phone ring at this point????

The NFL is designed to allow ‘litte-sisters-of-the-poor’ cellar-dwellars to rebound UNDER COMPETENT ownership/management/coaching.

The Washington turnaround is a glaring testament to the inadequacies of Daniel Snyder.

I believe the entire NFL - much less the NFC East - is a better product when the Washington team is in the mix.

Seriously, I miss that key rivalry that had the better Cowboys teams ‘battle tested’ going into the playoffs.

Lotta history there.

Meh...they have some motivation with a new coach...whatever. Weak schedule, but in the end, their Super Bowl will be beating us, maybe twice.

Oh they are absolutely smoking us the week before TG. They may not need that last game though.

The games aren’t really fun anymore, it’s about wondering what crap Jerry is going to spew to embarrass himself even more from here.

But hey, no need to change anything. Their process works. It’s been proven, and no one is better than Jerry.

It’ll settle down once their running back qb gets enough hits and has to stay in the pocket. Dude is to small and for some reason NFL defenses are slow to adjust to the trick of a running qb. They also invest in the oline and dline which is a massive advantage
