I think that a more contrite (5-11, 5-11, 5-11) Jerry made a lot of concessions to get Parcells here as far as power sharing (not walking the field etc.). To be honest, I don't really recall Bill showing an interest in coaching any other teams or vice-versa at the time. I think that he was in some financial need after a messy divorce, and I don't recall any other teams bidding him up for $5mm coaching spots, but maybe I missed it.

Jerry had Parcells wrapped up within weeks of the end of the season. There was talk of them meeting before the season was even over. Parcells could have looked for other opportunities had he wanted to and a coach of his caliber would have been able to get a job.

That first draft, Parcells had no say other than forcing Al Johnson. He was overruled on Spears for Ware the next year.

Tuna did bring in a lot of his guys which just goes to show that the two of them worked together to build the team. That shows a mutual respect and trust.

Both men have indicated that this was the case yet people will try and make up things to try and fit what they want to believe. Whatever.

Yep, Bill came in here with the mess of a team we were at the time and had great respect for Jerry's football insights. Yea, that is the version I believe. It was a mutual respect deal, on the football side of things, all the way. Bill and Jerry, football guys. Bill and Jerry, talent evaluators. Bill and Jerry, knowing how to build a roster. Two peas in a pod, mutual respect, absolute equals. One had just come off 5-11, 5-11, and 5-11 as the GM, and hired the other one to come help him.

My view?

My view is that absolutes bring absolutely nothing substantive to a discussion.

My view is that claiming to know anything about what NFL FO will do or not do is pretty dumb.

My view is that in a league where Mangini and Millen can get a job, claiming anyone else can't is pretty dumb.

My view is that Jerry is willing to try anything to win no matter how out of bounds it is.

My view is that Jerry makes mistakes but more importantly he learns from them and never stops trying.

My view is that we are 7-3 and finally have a team that wins games when our players are beat up and we're playing like ****.

My view is that you just avoided the question. I asked, do YOU believe that Jerry is a good personnel man?

BUT ENOUGH ALREADY. You guys have your views, I have mine, time will tell. I'm out
