Sorry for going off the soft-drink theme of this thread...

Anyway, I haven't been a big drinker of soft drinks since probably my college years.

My list of favs would be:

Pepsi (the regular version)
Root Beer
Cream Soda
Dr. Pepper

Funny how an area is either "Pepsi" or "Coke".

I think our area of the country was more "Pepsi" because there were several bottling plants located here, which I'm sure helped make that brand a little more popular.

When I was a teenager I didn't think there was any better breakfast than Pepsi & cold pizza. :)

When you get old your taste buds go to pot. That's at least what happened to you. :p:
So this gives you something to look forward to. :laugh2:

Can't get a Pepsi product in a restaurant around here.

It is made in Williamsport PA where I lived. It is well worth checking it out. A can of that and a bag of Middleswarth BBQ potato chips and you have a feast my friend.

Here is a site you can order both of them from. The BBQ chips are AWESOME.
Link?? :D

I my area of the country it is Coke. The places that serve Pepsi catches it for not having Coke. Some places that used to be Pepsi only, now offer both.

Put your head in the sand then that stuff is poison. Natural alternatives such as stevia and xylitol are much safer sweeteners.

Why don't you share one scientifically supported evidence backing up that argument? Oh I know why - it's because you can't. There isn't any.

It is quite possible to live a very enjoyable life without 3 liters of pop a day. It just takes a little pushing through it to change your tastes and habits towards healthier alternatives. Forgive those of us pushing you to change. Take it in the positive spirit intended.

Hey, I know it is well intentioned. I have heard the sermons before. I have never met anyone that didn't have a few unhealthy things in their life. I am 45, and to be honest, I am not going to change. I just don't put my health as a priority. I have knew quite a few people that have dropped dead despite taking precautions with their health. I know a 84 year old man that has smoked and drank since his early teens and he is in very good shape for his age. An extra ten years of old age is not something that I worry about.

that's absolutely preposterous. There's no scientific evidence whatsoever that clear, diet soft drinks cause any health problems whatsoever. The diet colas can cause teeth problems, but stuff like diet sprite or mt dew have no harmful ingredients whatsoever. Just because some new age-y yahoos spout off about it being bad for you, doesn't mean that it is.

If you dont think the artificial sweetners are way worse for you than natural sugar its quite obviouos you havent done your research.

Natural sugar is the only smart way to go if you need sweet. The other things are just terrible for your body, and that is fact.

What is you favorite soft drink? I am a Coke man. I drink at least 3 liters a day, sometimes more. I know people that like Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc. and some go for the diet versions. Some of the diet versions are just plain bad, very bad. Do we have any fans of the diet soft drinks? Most soft drink fans tend to find a brand and stick with it. If Coke is not available, I go with Sprite, but I'm not happy about it. Speak out soft drink lovers. In a few years the government will take all of them away.

I will pick Dr. Pepper, and then Coke if someone else is making it or I am getting a can. If I walk into a Convenience store to get a drink however, I like to mix half and half Dr. Pepper/Coke. Such goodness.

As too 3 liters a day, I hope you are still young. There was a time in my life when I would drink that much, but I have cut down quite a bit. Stuff just flat out is not that good for you. I have gone back to drinking tea with a half cup of sugar per pitcher now, which is far less than soft drinks contain.

Drink way too many Diet Cokes each day. Don't like Pepsi. Wish they'd bring back Rondo...

I don't drink it much anymore, but Barq's root beer in the 12 oz bottle is my favorite soft drink of all time.

Used to be a big fan of Coke, but can't drink it any more - too sweet. I drink a Diet Coke every once in a while, but I wouldn't call it enjoyable.

These days I drink a lot of water, a glass or two of wine most days, and the occasional cocktail - mostly scotch or a martini.
