What Makes Anyone Think Dak is Worth More Than Cousins?

Yeah,
Cousins has always been the funny comparison to Sleepnumber.

The stats police here can't even argue against his better overall career numbers but similar playoff failures.

I think I read yesterday when this Atlanta contract is complete that Cousins will have made 400 million career earnings playing QB.

And no, Dak ain't as good.

MC, I’m tired of Dak’s underachievement here in Dallas. But your assertion that Cousins and Dak are either the same or somehow Cousins is “better” in statistically incorrect.

In 17 head to head categories, Dak has better stats in 9-10 areas, including less INTs, better completion %, less losses (by far), has one All Pro season compared to zero for Cousins, and has 2 playoff wins to Cousins 1* (Crrected after prior mistake on my part) They are similar in many ways but asserting that Cousins is better statistically is incorrect.

Read this head to head comparisons:
https://stathead.com/football/vs/kirk-cousins-vs-dak-prescott

Whether Dak “deserves” more than Cousins is arguable. Arguing that Dak is the same or worse than Cousins is not Apples to apples. The inflated contracts for all starting NFL QBs is not unique to Dak or Cousins. It’s simple economic market supply and demand. The demand for even decent QBs is high, while the supply is extremely low. Thus QBs are overpaid. These QBs are not being “greedy”. It’s simple economics.
Everything being equal, if I had a choice between the two, I'd take Dak. But it's only a slight preference. At the end of the day, I think if you put the same group of guys and same system around either guy, you'd get the same results - i.e., pretty stats, but not much in the way of postseason success.

At least Dak has enough talent to get an MVP vote unlike Kirk Cousins. I don't even want to defend Dak this comparison is stupid and you are just trying to troll.
Would he had he stayed healthy though? Dak did nothing he wasn't on pace to surpass.

Only advantage Dak has is that he plays for the Cowboys.

If everything is equal why would you take Dak when Cousins has put up almost identical numbers with FAR less talent?

Yes, let's take the quarteback who has put up (x) numbers with a vastly superior team vs the quarterback who puts up similar numbers with far less talent....and the second one has slightly better post season stats to boot. Literally makes no sense besides for blind loyalty.

Agree with the second half of your statement

Cousins is getting 45 million a year with his new contract in Atlanta.

His average season with Minnesota was 30 TDs and 10 INTs.

Daks average season is 28 TDs and 10 INTs.

At the time of his injury last season Cousins was on pace for 38 TDs, 11 INTs, and 4,950 yards.

Thats 500 more yards, 2 more TDs, and only 2 more INTs than Daks runner up MVP season.

Through the first 8 games for Dak, before Cousins injury, Dak had 2,011 yards, 13 TDs, and 5 INTs while Cousins had 2,331 yards, 18 TDs, and 5 INTs.

Is it the injury? Age? Big whoop.Cousins will be his consistent self next year just like he always is while who knows what we’re going to get from Dak with the drama and roster shakeup hovering around.

Both guys do nothing in the playoffs, so that’s pointless to argue.

Basically, there is no universe where Dak should be making over 15 million a year more than Cousins, who has always been the better and more consistent QB between the two.
Lol!
Better and more consistent???
Hmmmm…
Cousins career record 76-67-2
Dak 73-41
I guess we’re all not as good with West Virginia math eh?

That’s a horrible argument, bro.

Because now you have to admit and acknowledge that 2-5 Dak is the worst playoff QB of all time, because 2-5 is the worst QB record ever for a QB with at least 5 playoff starts.

See how ya get yourself in holes going the W/L route?

Facts are facts, your ignoring them wont make them go away

8 years is “the big picture”
2-8 in playoffs
No back to back playoff wins
How many has cousins won? You ignored that with your blinders.

No, it’s the argument that rational and reasonably intelligent understand that GMs are going to use when deciding on paying a QB. The sum of the whole. Not one game vs evenly matched teams.
Did the Colts not pay Manning despite him not winning a SB until his 10th season and getting bumped out as the #1 seed multiple seasons!
Rational and reasonably intelligent!

Well done Bob. Best post in another Dak attacking thread. Stats and facts don’t apply with personal agendas and slighted opinions.

Besides these perineal Dak opponents you’d be stretched to find many out there who’d rank Cousins above Prescott. Have to remember theyd rather have Cooper . Lol

Regardless whatever we think Prescott is going to fetch a bigger contract. Which punctuates this opinion is off track to say the least. But everyone is entitled to embarrass themselves publicly. Lol

Nah, this is about how the QB's play not the success or failure of the team they are on. Otherwise known as "player evaluation".

Admit and acknowledge for all to see that Dak is the worst playoff QB ever with at least 5 playoff starts.

This is literally the dumbest way to make an argument. Graduated from the AC school of thinking. Just screams I watch espn highlights and skim over weekly stats for 30s
Team wins matter when it supports their point of view but losses should never be considered as they were everyone else's failure. Round & round the defenders go.

All I have to do is read the name on the left hand side there and I can tell you what they said without reading the comments.

But occasionally I do read them...I especially like the "Dak on your brain 24/7 sad!" written by someone who matches him comment for comment. PRICELESS!

Exactly

Both have comparable stats
Both bad in playoffs
Why pay Dak 15 million per year more?
Cowboys would happily sign him at 45 million

When did Dak sign that contract? Please quote your source....the 60 cap hit is because of restructuring not a new contract. Stop spreading false info....
