no player is irreplaceable including Mahomes. all players will be replaced.
Parsons is not irreplacable.
McCarthy is not irreplacable.
Smith is not irreplacable.
Pollard is not irreplacable
CD is not irreplacable

yesterday's loss was squarely on the coaches. lack of help in pass protection when edoga was clearly struggling and blatantly missed blocking the DE on 4 plays, where DE ran a straightline to the QB. lucky he didn't fumble. passing the ball inside the 6 inch line on first down. not targetting CD for two quarters. both Dak and MM. you can't tell me he couldn't come up with 2 routes to target CD.

and Dak is all we have at this point. perhaps you want to put all your hope on Trey Lance and annoint him the next phenom.

do you think anything will change?
Ummmm ... no Mahomes, no KC Super Bowls. Sorry.

Mahomes IS the reason KC went to 3 Super Bowls, and won 2. Without him, they're still waiting for their next post Hank Schram Super Bowl.

I want a sharp, slightly mobile QB who can make all the throws accurately.
We've only had 2 and we're long overdue. (They won super bowls)
They elevated the people around them, instead of needing people to elevate them.
If you gave Roger or Troy this offense you could start making room for the next Lombardi.
I'm so tired of hearing. But what if we pick a quarterback #1 and it doesn't work out?
Well, heck, we couldn't repeated the experiment several times in the last 30 years, I'm sure we wouldn't hit on one somewhere.

But no Jerry insists on trying to make chicken salad out of chicken duty.

Jerry wants to show he's a football maverick.

Two since 1963. Shows you these guys grow on trees. Let's just pick the next one.

We usually screw up the 1st round pick anyway. No harm in trying the most important position in sports. But that probably won't happen.

We'll be stuck with Dak for at least 3-4 more years, maybe 6-8.

What about Rex Grossman? He got to a SB too didn't he? Let me guess? Came up big when it counted?
I think the point you’re missing is Dak comes up short when it counts. It’s not what about time. It’s about this team needs a different QB1. 8yrs and time to call the experiment a failure. Time to move on.

If I'm Micah Parsons Im telling Jerry if you sign Dak than I'm holding out to be traded. And to be honest they should trade Parsons to move up in the draft and get a top QB. I'm contacting Chicago who holds the Panthers 1st round pick.

He's a fringe top 10 QB, just slightly above average because he's really good at home offset by bad on the road.
I think he is around 12-14 ranked QB over all. How would you rate him looking at just his road games. Would you move him down to 15, 20, 25.

Home: #8
Road: #16
Which would average out to #12.

Dak has played well this year… but… he has what a year remaining on his contract. If he doesn’t have a deep playoff run this year I think it’s tough to imagine giving him another big contract. Just how it is in my mind.

Like we’ve reached how high we can reach with him…. Especially if it’s another divisonal round loss.

I always see "But if not Dak then who?" type of replies to basically anyone not happy with Dak as the QB for the Cowboys.

What makes him irreplaceable in the eyes of those with that mindset? Are there people that really think Dak's skill and ability is SO high that he can't be replaced?

What skill or talents sets him apart from say..... Joe Flacco off the couch?
What makes Dak irreplaceable? For one, his salary because he cannot be cut or released, and he damn sure cannot be traded because of his "you cannot get rid of me unless I want you to" clause.

And for the second one, Jerra hates to realize his mistakes at all costs. So, there is no reason to ask this question because, well, Dak is going to get extended, there is no out.

Merry Christmas is all I can say.

Ask yourself where Dak is on his career arch. Is he still ascending or descending now? I think we’ve seen the best of him which wasn’t good enough yet I know it takes a team though. I see no reason to throw another huge contract his way for fear of getting a Daniel Jones or somebody.

Now, if he would play for around 25-30mill a year….I wouldn’t be opposed to extending him but he will want top dollar. Unfortunately, Dallas is backed into a corner and can’t afford to get out from under his contract.
Very well said. I’m jealous I didn’t write it. I feel Dak is descending in his career. Bill Walsh always said it’s better to get rid of a player a year early than 2 years too late. I feel it’s time to part ways because he’s not going to get better. We’ve seen the best and we still lost.

Now if he played for 25-30 million a year. I definitely would be on board with that. He can play while we groom the future. Lance or someone else.

Resigning Dak for below market value is a good thing because his career is trending downward. Resigning him to a market value or market setting contract is foolish because he’s peaked and you don’t pay premium for declining players.

Most Cowboy fans would love to have one of the more Elite talented QB’s in the league .

Unfortunately most teams have to build around a less than Elite QB.

And most critics would argue he’s enough to build around .

Sometimes we have to accept as fans that there are better QB’s and teams in our way preventing us from more success.

That doesn’t mean you just scrap what you have and start over cause you aren’t winning championships .

There’s some teams out there with much more Elite QB’s in Herbert, Wilson and even Burrows who aren’t winning championships yet.

Would we rather have one of them, of course but obviously it doesn’t stamp your ticket while it does make it easier. One has already at least made it to a Super Bowl.

Winning championships is still about “ teams “ . While having an Elite QB makes it easier to build around it isn’t the only way.

This is first season this era we’ve actually had a top 5 defense. I think most critics would argue we have enough of a core team and QB to build around.

But focusing on a QB who is top 10 caliber statistically than other aspects and contributing factors is troll like behavior and lazy analysis at best.

In the end as fans we really don’t have much other choice than to root on what our front office provides. Perhaps you should ask them.
