What Makes Dak Irreplaceable?

"have you seen Mahomes struggle this year?"

Yes we all have. Is it possible his contract is finally hurting his team from fielding good complimentary players? Could that be why he is struggling?

Could that be a position we also might be in? Maybe a few more $$$'s give us a better DT and more depth on the Oline?

Maybe, and I'm throwing spaghetti against the wall here...Maybe we draft some young talent but invest in multiple QB gurus and coaching. There is no cap on coaching. Keep QBs on a 4-5 year rookie deals depending on where we draft them and keep the 25% of the salary away from 1 player going forward.

Just a thought.
We had 25 M on the cap last yeR. We had 20M on the cap this year. We chose not to spend it.

Also tell me which DT you wanted and we couldn't afford.

Just a fact
Just a thought

Dak isn't irreplaceable but trying to find someone that is for sure better is not easy especially with a roster that is ready to compete now. If you could trade Dak and get the number 1 pick sure but that is not happening so we have what we have.

You realize the last QB the Cowboys took in the 1st round was Aikman, right?

We don't know how it would work out, because we haven't tried to draft a QB that high since Aikman because we hitch our wagons to guys like Dak.
That is pretty sad isn't it. Parcells partly responsible as well, bringing in his has been QB's. Then Jerry hitched his JWB Wagon to Romo, then Dak.
Not saying we can't win it all with Dak (if he has the perfect conditions) but he has not shown he can win this big games either. Not that he didn't get us that go ahead drive against Miami. But there was many 3 and outs before that which mattered as well.

Anyway, back to drafting a QB in the 1st round. Well, that won't happen for a very long time. Though some will say Lance is a 1st rounder. That doesn't count at this point. If Jerry extends Dak, only way he sees the field is by injury.

They had chances to draft QB's but the FO refuses.

It's probably even worse now. Jerry doesn't have time for QB development (in his mind). Took 4 years and an unbelievable team building coach for Aikman to get to the SB. I doubt Jerry is willing to go through that again. Might not happen until Jerry kicks the bucket. It should happen though. They should have been trying to find Dak's replacement for years now. Lance is a laughable attempt.

Dak is not replaceable and should be when there is a high priority need. I'll ask you what what makes him the top priority to be replaced? in a year that he is a top five player at his position?

In a year where defense can't stop the run we need linebackers, we need a defensive tackle. In a year where the offensive line is aging and starting to show signs of the deterioration. In that scenario, what makes the top nfc QB the priority to be replaced?

I know. You don't like him

Hard to take a fan serious who thinks Dak is average. That’s not even logical
If he's not elite, he's average. Elite guys deliver in big games. When he actually does that, quote me again.

Being a fan doesn't mean who have to swallow Jerry's kool aid. The fact I still watch after 25+ yrs of his complete mismanagement of the team, makes me a fan. I stopped buying merch years ago, when I sold my season tickets.

I will say this....... He resigns that lackluster QB, and you won't be hearing from me again. That'll be the final nail in that coffin, but he's smarter than every real GM, and likes his guys.

You still didn't tell me anything Flacco does better than Dak. You just told me Dak moves a little better.

Add @MountaineerCowboy to the list of fans that don't know what Joe Flacco does better than Dak Prescott.
Easy answer...... He delivers above his paycheck in big games when it counts. What does Dak do in big games?

Giants are still looking to replace Manning
At least they are trying something different without giving up the franchise with no trade clauses, to a guy who basically flat out sucks in post season, and big games.

What is this unproveable platitude that I'm going to use to try to make the same stupid point I've made 5000 times.

Bot farm activity.

I always see "But if not Dak then who?" type of replies to basically anyone not happy with Dak as the QB for the Cowboys.

What makes him irreplaceable in the eyes of those with that mindset? Are there people that really think Dak's skill and ability is SO high that he can't be replaced?

What skill or talents sets him apart from say..... Joe Flacco off the couch?
Flacco has an 85.5 rating and 7 interceptions to 10 TDs. He's completing just under 60% of his passes.

Dak has a 104.2 rating, 30 TDs to 7 interceptions and is completing 68.4% of his passes.

Dak is not irreplaceable, but finding a comparable replacement would not be easy, just as it wouldn't be for any top 10-15 QB. That's why few teams who have one are as eager to try to replace them as our fans are.
