and many teams have been able to do that. its not impossible. it takes a good GM and some smart drafting. Eagles did it this past year with Hurts. sanfrancisco did it with Grapolo, Rams did it with Goff, philly got there with Foles. so its not impossible. does having an elite QB helpt. ABSOLUTELY. but its not the only way. its the easier way. however given there are only 2,3 Elite QBs at most. then it makes it challenging to find one. they just don't fall off the tree.
A few teams have been able to do that but they did that without paying their average guy like a super star.

How about you posts Jones and Prescott scouting reports right here and i'll have a laugh while you have a cry over them
Ah, crap. I didn't realize I was on an SEC message board. I am such an idiot.

You're right, man. LSU doesn't stand a chance next time they go up against Mac Jones.

Lose Dak and there is a chance you become the Commanders or Giants. I fully understand the frustration with the team, but there are more issues than just our QB.
The Giants have won two super bowls since 2007. I'd take that.

Dak is good enough to get you to the playoffs but not good enough to get you far into them.

Dallas is essentially stuck but you can get lucky (see Baker Mayfield with the Bucs)

I'd still like to see Lance come in and take over after Dak's current contract is over (if he is ready)

I want to see Lance, ready or not.

What would it hurt?

Dak would be gone. You know Lance isn't the guy. So you probably pick high enough to get a good prospect in the first round.

so if you don't have an elite QB. you just keep drafting. that's it!?
so lets not invest in building around the QB and help him. just expect him to be superman.

have you seen Mahomes struggle this year?

essentially you just admited you have no solution, lack understanding football and your only way to a superbowl is having an elite QB. as I said, right now there are about 2 elite QBs.
so perhaps the other 30 teams should just quit playing. lets just have a single game between the two teams with Elite QB and be done with the season!!!

sheesh!!
"have you seen Mahomes struggle this year?"

Yes we all have. Is it possible his contract is finally hurting his team from fielding good complimentary players? Could that be why he is struggling?

Could that be a position we also might be in? Maybe a few more $$$'s give us a better DT and more depth on the Oline?

Maybe, and I'm throwing spaghetti against the wall here...Maybe we draft some young talent but invest in multiple QB gurus and coaching. There is no cap on coaching. Keep QBs on a 4-5 year rookie deals depending on where we draft them and keep the 25% of the salary away from 1 player going forward.

Just a thought.

Next year, I'd be on board with that for sure. Everyone got lulled to sleep with Dak destroying bad teams at home.

I always see "But if not Dak then who?" type of replies to basically anyone not happy with Dak as the QB for the Cowboys.

What makes him irreplaceable in the eyes of those with that mindset? Are there people that really think Dak's skill and ability is SO high that he can't be replaced?

What skill or talents sets him apart from say..... Joe Flacco off the couch?
You seriously think Flacco is as good as Dak?

Mahomes is struggling because he has bad WR's. By bad I mean absolute bone heads (Toney) and they drop passes that hit them right in the hands. Mahomes can't fix that.

Or replace the barely above average QB1 but a defense, oline, get a cheaper QB who can win more, and try to change something. We’ve already replaced coaching with Dak. He’s the common denominator.
Hard to take a fan serious who thinks Dak is average. That’s not even logical

He does have a hof TE. But no QB can win without players around them. Mahomes is probably the best in the league and he can’t win without players around him and without him that team would be looking at a near top draft pick

We'll have to come up with some kind of catchy slogan for that like Colts fans did back in 2011.

"To the Sewer for Ewers!" maybe?
