What NFCE Team can Best Defend Against TO!? ...

Taylor can "own" him all he wants....

Bottom line - the team that TO plays for OWNS the Commanders. or more importantly, the second receiver for said team owns the skins second corner, or whoever they try to match up against him.

Prepare to be Terry Glenn'd.

ah, you saved yourself w/ that one, ripping my idea, how dare you

Actually we swept both dallass and philthy last season so I don't know how you can come to that conclusion.

How did TO do against the Skins LAST year, though?

what does Dallas have to do w/ anything, and was TO playing when the Eagles met you guys last year?

I like my chances with Springs or Rogers against Glenn with saftey help...its going to be an interesting matchup. Lets not forget Bledsoe has to be upright to throw it to either of them, last time we played you guys that seemed to be a problem.

Actually, yes he has. I have the film to prove it if you'd like me to post it for you. He's lined up over TO many times in man coverage while he was with the iggles in taylor's rookie season and last year. Gregg Williams has specific packages for T.O. and some of them have Taylor lined up in man coverage jamming him at the line and running with him.

The term "anti-T.O." has a double meaning. One: Taylor owns T.O. He gets in his head and like someone posted before, T.O. hasn't had more than 50 yards agaisnt the Skins in the past 3 years. He also has a rare mixture of size and speed so he can compete for jump balls with T.O., jam him at the line, and out physical him...even bully him. I've seen it with my own eyes. I'm leaving work now but I'd be happy to post some links to videos that show T.O. and Taylor matched up one on one from last season and Taylor's rookie year...and Taylor owns him.

PLEASE POST IT!! (not just for scrutiny... just for me to see and add to my collection)

On a side note...you'd think Roy Williams would be able to get into TO's head as well, seeing as he's the one that broke his leg and all.

Awesome - so Witten and Fasano will kill you.

I love it.

He didn't do anything. He only played in the 1st game against the iggles and had less than 50 yards. Taylor was whipping him up and down the field.

A reply to the statement that Dallass didn't have T.O. last year - I know, thanks for the newsflash. I was refering to the remark about teams with T.O. owning the Skins...I thought the poster was trying to include dallass since you guys have him now.

I'll post the video tonight or tomorrow, I have to leave work right now so I can't keep this debate up anymore. But if you would like to see it just go right over to extremeskins.com and they have Sean Taylor's highlight video's from his rookie and sophmore season, there's highlights of he and T.O. matched up one on one in both vidoes and Taylor lays some serious wood on your boy. Out leaps him for a jump ball or two and bullies him up and down the field. Its must see tv.

According to Hostile's research.. NO.

2005

Week 9, 11/6/05, Commanders over Eagles 17-10, Owens DNP.

Week 17, 1/1/06, Commanders over Eagles, 31-20, Owens DNP.

It's a no brainer.

Every team in the NFL that has to play the Cowboys this year is thinking "Pressure Bledsoe" right now. Doesn't matter how they do it - blitzes, 4+ man fronts, sending safeties after him, etc...

The suspect unit on the Cowboys is the offensive line. They will test it by stuffing the box and playing man or zone while blitzing until the season gets under way and teams start getting tape to analyze.

Uncertain if there are any Giant fans here, but I know there are Skins fans here. My question is primarily to those opponent fans; however, I'm sure all will give there 2-cents.

That said, and speaking from an Eagles fan perspective, we'll probably defend against TO by disguising our blitz packages and going after Bledsoe with "extreme predjudice." The Eagles have acquired some help in this department ...

Darren Howard (DE)
Jevon Kearse (DE)
Jerome McDougle (DE)
Trent Cole (DE)

These Eagle defensive ends will apply intensive pressure to reduce/minimize opportunities for Bledsoe to make completions. In all fairness, uncertain if CBs Brown or Sheppard have the skills needed to cover TO; even though they have played up close to TO for a least a season. From an Eagles fan perspective, I'm sure that TO will get his touches. Having TO as a former Eagle, we know the threat that TO is ...however, Roy Williams also showed us that TO is ..defendable. But the most importatnt anti-threat the Eagles have is Brian Dawkins!

What other NFCE teams do you think will be able to "reduce" the TO threat opportunity?

Shutting down a player like TO has more to do with pressuring his QB than actually covering him. Philly and NY have better pass rush, so they have a better shot at covering him.

Id like to see Washington stop him, because they would probably have to roll help to his side, and I'll take Terry Glenn 1 on 1 with Rogers any day of the week.

You're right, TO did nothing vs the Skins last year because he never played them.

You guys got the Eagles at home the week the TO situation came to a head. I remember because we were next on the TO-less Eagles list. Your second game at Philly was without TO as well.

If I remember correctly, you guys were owned by a rookie from Georgia....

We were the best at guarding TO last year. We got the Eagles the week after their miraculous comeback vs KC. TO was having a nice season....TNew held him to one or two catches the whole game.

Springs is an overrated CB.....talented yes, but not as good as he says he is. I can't wait to see Glenn go up against Rogers....

Ala Marisa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinnie"

"Its a bull**** question"

Really? He did that LAST year?

Amazing.

Terrell Owens racked up 50 yards on your defense without even playing.

Imagine what he'll do when he gets on the field.

Scary.

he must have been playing Madden '06, man, what is up with these Commander fans thinking that Madden has any impact on the field? ;)

I think I've seen it. I believe the extent of it is a late hit out of bounds (Taylor's specialty - dirty player) and Taylor running into him AFTER a play is over, shouldering him when he's not looking.

Might be another play in there somewhere - but all in all - impressive stuff.

I love Madden.

I also love asking questions I know the answer to, but the person answering them doesn't bother taking the time to look said answer up.

oh yeah, I've seen it, it also has footage of Taylor grabbing Julius' face-mask...Julius broke the tackle

also shows Taylor talking smack on the sidelines after hitting someone out of bounds, only to get a one-arm shove in return
