He will have to adapt if he has no rushmen. He's a coach. Eberflus is there and being elevated.

And where exactly is Eberflus being "elevated" to? The secondary and passing game, not the defensive line. That's Marinelli's territory and what he was supposedly brought in for.

Marinelli will have to be creative with
who he has on the team.

And maybe you really can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Offense has to stay on the field more in 2015 to have any chance. If they do, I think they will win the division and
at least make the playoffs.

I'm glad that you do. That makes one of us. Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

Maybe. But again, the sense of urgency needs to be there right now. Like today. Not scheduling a visit on Monday. Maybe next week. Not sure.

If getting jilted by Long did not wake anybody up, it should have.

Branch is clearly the most appealing. I would get him signed right away, at least he is somewhat young. Coples? Not sure why everyone keeps dropping his name, I don't think he is capable.

Mike Neal is more of a run stopper, not a rusher. Jason Jones and Gilberry are your Mincey types but even slower.

Of that bunch Branch would be the most intriguing.

I think this offseason lets everyone know that the cowboys are not in a win now mode. they talk a big game but usually don't play a big game I think they are convinced with dez and romo and other injuried players back they will be competitive. in my mind they wont win the east and wont make the playoffs they are middle of the pack to lower half of the nfc.

I think that's part of it.

I think the Jones' believe this roster is better than it really is thinking that 2014 is the standard and 2015 was the anomaly, while ignoring 2011, 12 and 13.

This is a .500 team with a .500 roster and .500 head coach. But the Jones' are too blind to see that.

It's either that or they truly do realize that they're not a player or two away and will actually draft looking at the long term.

But no, your idea probably better represents the thinking. All evidence to the contrary.

Good. I prefer fans go back to viewing this team like they did in 2014 compared to the expectations of 2015 that flew out the window when Romo got hurt.

2014! The rallying cry of excuse makers and apologists.

Never mind that the team's GM went into 2014 saying the team was not going to be competitive and were in "rebuilding mode."

But this year the Front Office knows what they are doing. They are strategically bringing in guys for visits knowing they will sign with other teams. It's all part of the plan.

Time to swallow your pride, Stephen and Garrett. Re-sign Hardy for vet minimum with incentives. And cut him in week 5 or after if necessary. We have forced ourselves into this corner by not signing Mario Williams or JPP to the reasonable contract they got. If we do not do this, we will be forced into drafting for need at #4 and picking Bosa. If Ramsey, Jack or Elliot is ranked higher on our board, this would be tragic.

I think everybody has to get used to the idea that Hardy is not going to sign for the vet minimum. At this point, he probably won't sign for a discount at all. He might have if we had made the offer to sign him before everybody else got signed but not anymore. I wouldn't, if I were him.

This is their "win now" mode. Yikes

I don't think they can even fall back on that anymore.

This is "relevance mode". Just maintain that.

Do just enough to make it look like they are addressing concerns before the draft, then start pitching the Bosa jerseys afterwards.

I think that the long termed potential for Joey Bosa has been steadily elevated in opinions. He should start out at least solid in the run defense and improving through out his first year, in pass rush.

That puts DE back on the board for round 4.

Next, Buckner and his size is projecting as a defensive tackle. He reminds me of the entry of Bob Lilly and a two to three year progress to unstoppable inside. He is in play, reasonably, at pick four as well.

I like that Dallas is bringing in Hall and Goldson. They will elevated the depth in the secondary and put Carr on notice of his immediate future. A new contract or he becomes a cap savings now.

But I'm excited that either SS Ramsey or CB Hargreaves will be at 4 as well.

If the Cowboys want to go ahead and franchise shop for a QB, they have a legitimate shot with either Goff or Wentz.

Then there is Elliott for a top end addition that would produce from the start, similar to Tony Dorset or Emmit Smith.

If someone offers top end picks for four, then players such as Billing, Spence, Nkemdiche...come into view very quickly.

I'm really starting to warm to the prospects of this upcoming draft.

The way I see it, CCBoy, is Dallas should expect to get a minimum of four players this April, providing they do their due diligence, who can have a significant impact. Is it a challenging proposition based on their draft history? Absolutely, but the opportunity is there.

Nope cause I didn't think Romo would miss 75% of the season. Long as he's healthy we won't see 4-12 tho.

Yeah, but there's no counting on "long as he's healthy" any more. Hasn't played a full season since 2012.

Well Hell I would take the 2013 or 2014 version of health. Missing 1 game is better than missing 12.
