Canty, but the reality is he wanted more money than he was worth, and letting him go was the right decision.

Burnett is a close second. I don't like our ILB depth for the coming season at all.

Terrell Owens.

I'm not upset about the decision itself. I completely understand why the move was made, and I support it 100%. "Romo-friendly" meant Owens had to go.

What saddens me is the fact that his Cowboys career didn't end the way I had hoped. I became a big fan of his during his 3 years in Dallas, and had envisioned him playing a big role in a Cowboys Super Bowl championship.

It was beautiful when him and Romo were getting along so wel, considering his past issues with QBs. I was so proud of him when he shed tears for Tony after the Giants loss.

Should've seen it coming... him and McNabb were once close too.

Had the makings of being a perfect ending to a Hall of Fame career from one of the best WRs in the history of the game. An ending that I felt he deserved, based on his on-field prowess and legendary work ethic.
This.

Polk, because, he blocked that punt against the Bucs and did some type of chicken celebration in the endzone.

Roy, the way fans turned on him makes me ashamed .

My vote goes to Roy Williams. Yes, he was terrible in coverage, and his play seemingly diminished ever since he "found God"--but he was a Cowboy original, gave us some amazing moments, and was a top player in the league at his position for a few years.

I will never forget some of the bone crushing hits he delivered, and I won't ever forget that interception return for a TD on MNF against the Eagles, even if the ball was thrown right to him.

While thankful he's gone, I'm also thankful what he brought to the Cowboys. He was one of the only bright spots during the Campo era. I just really wish I knew what on earth happened to him..

Well put Jay. I thought about saying Roy but I was more sad about how he had declined the last couple of years than I was about his departure. I guess, technically, I was more "sad" about his leaving than I was about Burnett, but I felt that losing Burnett was a bigger loss to the team.

I'll miss four guys:

Keith Davis
Chris Canty
Kevin Burnett
Anthony Henry

I was most disappointed to see Kevin Burnett go.

I was most sad to see Roy go, but only from a nostalgic standpoint. He could have been a really special player, but the chance slipped through his fingers. Roy's draft class was the first one that I really followed on the internet and watched on TV and I'll always remember yelling at the TV when we passed on our pick and the Chiefs jumped us to draft Ryan Sims. I was sure that we were going to lose out on Roy Williams and I was ecstatic when we still grabbed him. His impact in his first couple of years was almost unreal, it seems like a dream...and of course we all, and he, eventually had to wake up.

I will always miss the Roy that could have been.

I'd also like to add an honorary mention, someone who wasn't player but who always had a huge impact on the games (if only in some peoples minds).

I will miss Jessica Simpson, the threads that she brought and the pictures that always popped up. If only Romo had been more focused on training with Roy E. Williams, he wouldn't have had time to break up with Jessica.

I don't feel sorry for losing a single one. Oh and Burnett remains the most overrated Cowboy of the last 5 years.

Roy Willy, and I hope he comes back and retires a cowboy. Though it's likely a pipedream.

I hope greg comes back and retires a cowboy too.

Zach Thomas. Some feel that wide receiver is the greatest roster concern going into the '09 season. I feel that it's at linebacker. I'm not sold yet on Keith Brookings and wouldn't mind some added insurance on the inside. Of course, Thomas didn't shine all that well during his time here either.

ummm, Brookings almost has the same ratings on madden as Zach, so I think we are totally safe there.

Scientifically speaking.

I'm not sad any of the players listed are gone. Like a few posters have mentioned I'm disappointed that T.O. didn't last longer. Not surprising to be sure but as a fan you hope that this time it works out. However, if the circus goes with him then that disappointment will quickly fade.

All of these guys have warts except Canty but I think we did an adequate job of replacing him.

I really can't say I'm going to miss any of them until we see what their replacements do.
